"Alright! That should be enough training. Hopefully you're ready to battle the gym leader," Ashton said to Haunter. He called it back to its Pokeball and made his way back to the city. He walked down the road and saw the gym in the distance. He walked to it, but didn't see his friends. "(Where are they?)" Ashton thought. "Well look who it is. If it isn't little Ashy-boy," Ashton heard someone say. Ashton already knew who it was and even though he didn't want to, he turned to face Eric. "Hello Eric," Ashton said with annoyance in his voice.

"What's that tone for? Are you mad because a trainer better than you is here?" Eric said. "So how many gym badges do you have? I currently have seven," Eric said, showing all his badges. "I have five, but that's only because I've been enjoying my time as a Pokémon Trainer and not rushing to become a Pokémon Master!" Ashton said. Eric laughed. "Really? Tell me then, while you've been slacking off, have you gotten strong enough to beat me?" Eric asked. Before Ashton could answer, Eric interrupted him. "The answer is no, Ashy boy. You can stay here and goof around all you want, but me, I've got a clear goal in mind. I'm gonna train non stop for the upcoming Kanto League. Let's see where slacking off can get you," Eric said, walking away.

Ashton growled. "Who does he think he is?" Ashton mumbled. "Hey Ash, who was that?" He heard King ask from behind him. He turned and saw King, Justin and Okotsu. "That was Eric. Him and Ash don't have a very good history," Justin said. "Forget about him. I'm ready to face the gym leader!" Ashton said as he turned to the gym doors. He pushed them open and walked inside.

He looked around and saw a giant empty room. He walked to it. "Hello?" He asked out loud.

"Hello there, I've been expecting you, Ashton," He heard a woman say. He turned and saw a woman with king black hair and red eyes facing him. She was wearing a red and black dress.

"You must be the gym leader. Your name is Sabrina, right? I've come to challenge you and win your badge!" Ashton exclaimed. Sabrina just stared at him. "Very well. Let us begin," Sabrina said, grabbing a Pokeball. She closed her eyes and a green aura surrounded the Pokeball. The Pokeball began to float out of her hand and landed in front of her. "(That was kinda cool)" Ashton thought. Her Alakazam came out.

"Alright! Go Haunter!" Ashton yelled, throwing his Pokeball

"Alright! Go Haunter!" Ashton yelled, throwing his Pokeball. "Haunter, use Shadow Ball!" Ashton shouted. Haunter formed a ball of dark energy in its hand and flew at Alakazam. "Alakazam, use Confusion," Sabrina said.

"Haunter, cover your eyes!" Ashton shouted. Alakazam flashed the bright light, but Haunter covered it's eyes so the move had no effect. "Alakazam, use Psychic," Sabrina said. Alakazam used its Psychic powers to slam Haunter into the ground. Haunter got up and floated back into the air. "( I gotta be smart about this if I want to win)" Ashton thought to himself. Suddenly, he got an idea.

"Haunter, use Sneak Attack!" Ashton yelled. Haunter turned invisible. Alakazam tried to find Haunter, but couldn't. Suddenly, something struck Alakazam in the face, making it fall to the ground. Using its invisibility, Haunter landed a punch on Alakazam.

"He sure is amazing when it comes to thinking of new moves and battling," Okotsu said to Justin and King. "Alakazam, use Light Screen," Sabrina said. Alakazam raised its arm and a wall of light summoned. Haunter, who was still invisible, tried to punch the light screen, but couldn't even put a scratch on it. Ashton thought again about what he could do. Then, he decided to do Haunter's most terrifying combo.

"Haunter, use Hypnosis!" Ashton shouted. Haunter's eyes glowed red and Alakazam fell over and fell asleep. "Now use Dream Eater!" Ashton said. Haunter's hand turned red and Haunter pointed it at Alakazam. A ball of energy came out of Alakazam and floated towards Haunter. Haunter grabbed it and ate it in one bite. Suddenly, Alakazam woke up and started growling and shaking in pain, then fainted. "Alakazam isn't able to battle anymore!" Ashton shouted.

"That is true. I'm truly shocked, not by the outcome of the battle, but that for the first time ever, my predictions were wrong," Sabrina said. Ashton tilted his head in confusion. "When I predicted of your arrival, my prediction showed you losing the battle. It seems as though not all of my predictions are right. Thank you for showing me, Ashton," Sabrina said with a smile. Ashton smiled back.

She walked up to him and handed him the Marsh Badge.

"I hope that you continue your journey of becoming a Pokémon Master, Ashton

"I hope that you continue your journey of becoming a Pokémon Master, Ashton. You've really shown me a new light," Sabrina said. "Thanks Sabrina!" Ashton said. "And good job Haunter!"

Ashton ran to give Haunter a high five, but Ashton phased right through it and fell to the floor. "Ow," Ashton said. He stood up and laughed before calling Haunter back to its Pokeball. He turned and made his way to the exit where his friends were waiting on him.

"Good job Ash," Justin said. "You made it look so easy," King said. "Thanks guys," Ashton said. He looked at Haunter's Pokeball and put it in his bag. "Alright guys, let's go," Justin said. They all walked out of the gym.

"So where's our next stop?" Okotsu asked. Justin pulled out his Pokédex and opened the map. "Our next stop is Fuchsia City," Justin said. Justin read some more information about the city. "Apparently there's an area there called the Safari Zone," Justin said. Okotsu and King's  eyes widened.

"The Safari Zone! I know about place! That's where they take care of rare Pokémon!" Okotsu said. "Yeah! They even let you catch some of the healthy Pokémon!" King said.

"Sounds fun! Let's get going then," Ashton said. They made their way out of Saffron City and walked down the path. Ashton stopped and turned to look at Saffron City one more time. A lot had happened here. "I may have lost to Giovanni here and gotten insulted by Eric, but I won't let that stop me from becoming a Pokémon Master!" Ashton said with determination in his voice. The others smiled at him before they all turned and started walking again.

"So how long until we get to Fuchsia City?" King asked. "About an hour," Justin said. King and Ashton groaned. "I guess you should prepare for lots of walking," Okotsu said. "Yep and it might even take longer since I know we're gonna find new types of Pokémon here," Justin said.
