Journeys Of A Pokémon Trainer

Episode 78

Once Ashton and his friends had made it to the Pokemon Center, they walked inside and handed their PokeBalls to the nurse. She put them in the healing machine and told the trainers to go sit in the waiting room.

While they were in waiting room, they decided to start a conversation while Ashton fed Togepi. "So Ash, how many Pokemon have you caught?" Toru asked. "Since I arrived in the Johto Region, I've caught five Johto Pokemon. They're all delightful, though, Ursaring could definitely get a better attitude. It's a little... Aggressive," Ashton said as a sweat drop formed on his head.

"I see. I've caught a bunch of Pokemon as well and theyre really strong," Toru said. "Same here. Me and Toru have been working really hard to train our Pokemon," Leaf said. "I could tell by the strength they showed in your matches against Chuck. Your Pokemon are no joke," Ashton said.

"Thanks Ash. Your Pokemon are really strong as well," Toru said. "Trainers Ashton, Toru, and Leaf please come to the front desk. Your Pokemon are done resting," The nurse said over the intercom. "Right. Let's go get our Pokemon," Ashton said. The three trainers stood up and walked to the front desk.

The Nurse handed the trainers their PokeBalls and handed Togepi to Ashton. "Togepi!" It said happily, hugging Ashton. Ashton smiled and called Blastoise out of it's PokeBall. "Blast!" Blastoise said. "Alright guys, let's go walk around the city while we wait for Justin and Okotsu to finish their matches," Leaf said. Ashton and Toru said ok and they all walked out of the Pokemon Center and down the street.

They walked down the street until Ashton and Toru saw two faces they weren't expecting to see in the Johto Region. It was their mothers. "Mom! Why are you here?" Ashton exclaimed. "Oh, hi sweetie! I see you made it to Cianwood City!" Ashton's mom said before hugging him. "Hey Toru! Glad to see you're doing good," Toru's mom said before also hugging him. The two mothers let go of their sons.

"Anyway, we're here because we both have business here," Ashton's mom said. "Really? What type of business?" Leaf asked. Toru's mom looked at Leaf for a second before getting a look of adoration on her face. "Oh My! You must be Leaf! Toru's told me a lot about you! You're just as cute as he said you were!" Toru's mom exclaimed, causing Toru and Leaf to start blushing.

"Mom! You can't, I mean, I uhh! I didn't say, I mean!" Toru stammered, not being able to get the words out. "It's fine Toru. I'm glad you think I'm cute," Leaf said, causing Toru to blush harder and put his head in his jacket. Ashton just laughed.

"Anyway, I'm here because Im here to visit my mother," Toru's mom said. Toru took his face out of his jacket and looked up. "Hold on, grandma's here?" Toru asked. "Mhm. I was on my way to see her when you four spotted us," Toru's mom said. "And I'm here to buy something. Professor Stewart wanted to get something here, but he couldn't leave his lab, so I offered to go for him," Ashton's mom said.

"Ashton's mom noticed Blastoise standing behind Ashton. "If it isn't Blastoise! How is my son treating you?" Ashton's mom asked. "Blast!" Blastoise said happily. That's when she noticed Togepi in Blastoise's arms. "And who is this little cutie?" She asked before grabbing Togepi and hugging it. "Togepi!" It said happily.

"Oh, that's Togepi. I've been raising it ever since it hatched from an egg," Ashton said. "I see. This little guy is so cute!" She said. "Togepi!" Togepi exclaimed. "I'm glad you think so!" Ashton said.

An idea suddenly came to Ashton's head. "Hey mom. I've been thinking about something for a while now since Ive been taking care of Togepi," Ashton said. "What's that?" Ashton's mom asked. "You see, I want Togepi to live a good life since it's a baby, but I don't want it to grow up with me constantly battling and not being able to take care of it a lot. So I was wondering if maybe you would want to take care of it?" Ashton asked.

"Wait, are you sure? Youve been taking care of it since it hatched. Are you sure this is what you want to do, Ash?" Toru asked. Ashton nodded. "If that's how you feel, then sure honey. Plus, it's been feeling a little lonely around the house since you, Travon, and Bre left the house," Ashton's mom said.

"Thank you mom," Ashton thanked. He walked up to Togepi and rubbed it's head. "Hey Togepi. You're gonna live with my mom from now on. She's really sweet, so I know that you'll grow to love her as much as I do. I promise that I'll come by and visit you every chance I get," Ashton said. "Togepi!" Togepi said before Hugging Ashton. Ashton smiled and hugged back. Everyone else smiled at the two. Ashton and Togepi let go of each other.

"Alright. It's been fun, but we should really be going. You kids have fun now!" Toru's mom said. "We will!" The three trainers said. Ashton and Toru hugged their moms one more time before they all turned and went in opposite directions. "Ok guys, let's go check the city out!" Ashton said.

Ashton, Toru, Leaf, and Blastoise walked around the city for twenty minutes before heading for the docks. They saw Justin and Okotsu waiting for them by Captain John's ship. "Hey guys! We won our badges and now we're ready to sail back to Olivine City," Okotsu said. "Awesome! Let's get going then!" Ashton exclaimed. "Yeah! I can't wait!" Toru also exclaimed.

Right on cue, Captain John walked out of the ship. "Alright Lads and lass, hop aboard and we'll be on our way back to Olivine City!" Captain John said. The trainers got on the ship and Captain John started sailing back to Olivine City. "Say, Ash?" Justin said, catching his attention. "Yeah, what's up?" Ashton asked. "Where's Togepi? He's not with you or Blastoise," Justin asked.

Ashton smiled and looked into the air. "He's with my mom. I'm sure she'll take good care of it," Ashton said. "Really? I'm sure she will. She is super nice," Justin said. Ashton nodded and they all sailed back to Olivine City.
