Three trainers leave Pallet Town and travel across the Kanto and Johto regions. Along the way, they meet lots of friends and enemies and compete in the Kanto Tournament League and the Johto League.
After an hour of training, Ashton walked out of the woods and made his way to the Indigo Platea building. He walked inside and saw Okotsu walking out of the gate that lead to the Staduim.
"Okotsu! Over here!" Ashton called out. Okotsu saw him and walked over to him. "Hey Okotsu! Did you just finish an exhibition match?" Ashton asked. "Yeah. It's my third one," Okotsu said. "How's your score looking?" Ashton asked.
"I lost the first match and I won my second and third match. If I lose this next one, I don't qualify for the Tournament," Okotsu said. Ashton patted his back. "Don't worry! I have faith in you," Ashton said, gaining a smile from his friend. "Thanks Ash. It looks like your match is next," Okotsu said. He pointed to the screen with the list of battles. Ashton was next on the list. "Right! I'll see you later!" Ashton said. "Alright see ya. Good luck on your match!" Okotsu said. Ashton nodded and ran to the gate.
He walked to the Staduim and to the Battle Area. He saw his opponent. It was a boy who looked older than Ashton. He had short black hair and was wearing a red shirt and jeans.
"You must be Adrian!" Ashton said. "I am. You must be Ashton. I've watched both of your matches so far. You'll definitely be a challenge," Adrian said. The judge walked on stage, as usual, with his microphone in hand. "Hello folks! Battling in this round, we have Ashton, who currently has two wins! Battling against him is Adrian, who currently has one win!" The judge said. The crowd cheered for both trainers.
"Would both trainers send out their first battle so we may began the match. Ashton pulled out a Safari Ball and Adrian pulled out a Pokeball and threw it forward. Ashton sent out Jigglypuff and Adrian sent out a Hitmonlee.
"Alright. The match may begin now!" The judge said. "Jigglypuff, use Rollout!" Ashton shouted. Jigglypuff curled into a ball and rolled at Hitmonlee at full speed. "Hitmonlee, dodge and use Mega Kick!" Adrian yelled. Hitmonlee dodged Jigglypuff's Rollout attack and kicked it hard into the air. Hitmonlee jumped up and kicked Jigglypuff, sending it crashing into the ground. "Jigglypuff, use your Pound attack!" Ashton shouted.
Jigglypuff jumped at Hitmonlee and punched it in the face. "Hitmonlee, use Counter!" Adrian yelled. Hitmonlee did a flip and kicked Jigglypuff. "Jigglypuff, use Gyro Ball!" Ashton shouted. Jigglypuff curled into a ball and started rolling around the Battle Area, gaining speed every second. After it gained enough speed, it rolled at Hitmonlee, sending it flying back. Hitmonlee got up and ran at Jigglypuff. "Hitmonlee, use Flying Kick!" Adrian yelled. Hitmonlee jumped and kicked Jigglypuff, sending it sliding back and making it faint.
"Adrian gets the first point!" The judge said. Ashton and Adrian called their Pokémon back to their Pokeballs.
"Rough start. He might be able to make a comeback," Mike said. "Let's hope. The stronger he gets, the better," Ronnie said.
"Maybe Ash can turn things around and win his next two matches," Okotsu said to Justin and King. "I hope so," Justin said. "Don't worry guys. Even if he loses here, he'll still have a chance in his last match," King said.
Adrian pulled out a Pokeball and Ashton grabbed his second Safari Ball. Ashton sent out Rhyhorn and Adrian sent out a Pokémon that looked like Eevee, but it had a reddish-orange fur and a yellow maine.

"Is that one of the Eevee evolutions?" Ashton asked. "Yeah! This is the flame evolution. It's called a Flareon!" Adrian said. "Well, let's start then! Rhyhorn, use Sand Attack to blind it and then use Slam!" Ashton yelled. Rhyhorn ran at Flareon and used its horn to send dirt flying into Flareon's face.
Flareon couldn't see anything and started growling in pain. Rhyhorn ran at Flareon and slammed its whole body into the Fire type Pokémon. "Flareon, use Flare Blitz!" Adrian shouted. Flareon set its feet on fire, giving itself a huge boost in speed. Flareon ran around the Battle Area, gaining speed. Flareon suddenly slid to a stop and jumped at Rhyhorn. "Rhyhorn, use Slam!" Ashton shouted.
Rhyhorn dodged Flareon and grabbed it with its horn. Rhyhorn lifted Flareon up and threw it into the ground hard. "Now use Stomp!" Ashton shouted. Rhyhorn jumped up and stomped on Flareon with its two front legs.
Flareon shot fire at Rhyhorn, making it step back. Flareon jumped back and put some distance between it and Rhyhorn. "Flareon, use Overheat!" Adrian shouted. Flareon ran at Rhyhorn and covered itself with a flaming aura. Once it was close enough, it's aura exploded, damaging Rhyhorn and Flareon. Both the Pokémon fell to the ground and struggled to get up. Rhyhorn managed to get up, but Flareon couldn't and fainted.
"The second point goes to Ashton!" The judge said. Both trainers called their Pokémon back and prepared their last Pokémon. Ashton and Adrian both threw their last Pokeball. Ashton sent out Magnemite and Adrian sent out a Pokémon that looked like a Slowpoke, but it was bigger and had a weird shell Pokémon biting on its tail.

"Slowbro, use Water Gun!" Adrian said. Slowbro sprayed water out of its mouth, damaging Magnemite. "Magnemite, use Sonicboom!" Ashton shouted. Magnemite closed its eye and a shock wave at Slowbro. Slowbro slid back.
"Slowbro, use Shell Slam!" Adrian said. Slowbro rushed at Magnemite and lifted its tail. It slammed its tail into Magnemite, sending it flying back and crashing into the ground. "Magnemite, use Thundershock!" Ashton shouted. Magnemite used its magnets to generate lightning and shot a bolt of lightning at Slowbro. Slowbro got hit by the attack, but was still standing. "Slowbro, use Psychic!" Adrian said.
Slowbro lifted its arm and a pink aura surrounded Magnemite. Slowbro lifted its arm and slammed it down, causing Magnemite to fly into the air and crash into the ground, sending dust flying everywhere. When the dust settled, Magnemite was on the ground, unconscious.
"Adrian gets the second point which makes the him the winner!" The judge said. The crowded cheered for Adrian.
"He lost?! He must of got unlucky!" Ronnie yelled. Mike didn't say anything.
"I didn't think he'd lose," Justin said. "Don't worry. He still has his last round. Hopefully he wins that one," King said.
Ashton walked across the Battle Area to Adrian and stuck his fist out. "That was fun, Adrian. We should battle again some day," Ashton said. Adrian smiled and gave Ashton a fist bump. Ashton walked out of the Staduim and to the main building. He sat in the waiting room and pulled out the bag of cookies Ronnie gave him.
Somebody walked up to him and sat beside him. It was Toru. "Hey man," Ashton said. "Hey Ash. Kinda unfortunate how your match went," Toru said. "Yeah. It's fine though. I still have a chance in the final match," Ashton said. "Yep. You gotta take this one seriously, which means you should use the strongest Pokémon you have," Toru said. "I was planning on. I'm not holding anything back in this next match!" Ashton said with a determined grin on his face. Then, his stomach rumbled.
"I'm really hungry though. Wanna come find something to eat with me?" Ashton asked. "Sure! I was getting hungry myself!" Toru said. The two trainers got up and walked out of the Waiting Room to find something to eat.
