Chapter 227. Dinner Party

" It's a pleasure to meet you, Marquess Drake. Thank you so much for helping my son yesterday morning."

Once we all arrived at what we found out was a vacation home for the Sark family, a Demon woman with 3 pale pink eyes and long black hair bowed her head to me and began to thank me. With her words serving as a clue, I assumed it was Lady Sark. I then responded to her thanks as best I could, considering I barely made it through the door, and I selfishly thought there would be food immediately served to us.

" It was no issue at all, I'm just glad he's okay. It's nice to meet you, Lady Sark."

She returned to standing straight and I noticed that she was even taller than Warrick. She must be... 9 foot tall. I guess it's fitting for someone who married that giant of a Demon. The woman smiled at us and began to speak again.

" Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kina Sark. You met my Husband Phillip Sark yesterday, correct?"

" Ah."

I place the bottom of my fist in my hand.

" So that was his name!"

/ Crack!/

At my words, I heard a crack from somewhere... I looked at the source and it was hard to describe the look on Lady Kina's face.

" Are you okay?"

At my words, Lady Kina seemed to be holding back something, but she answered my question still.

" Yes, Marquess Drake, it's just that I found the actions of my Husband.... Disheartening."

/BANG!/

" Honey! I'm home!"

And with what might be the worst timing I've seen, Count Sark walked in the door, followed shortly after by what looked like a younger version of him with 3 ears instead of 4. Then Max and Tana followed after him.

" Oh! Marquess Drake! What a surprise! Max, Tana, looks like you can talk to him like you've been asking for today! Isn't that great! Hey Simon! You should talk to him as well! Say, Honey, how did he find out where we liv-"

/BANG!/

And without even replying, Lady Kina ran and punched Lord Sark directly in his cheek and sent him flying.

" You rudely attack the person who helped one of our babies! It takes Tana to get you to apologize and you don't even say your name! And you do this to a MARQUESS!?"

The beating did not stop for a while, it was only after the kid named Simon tapped his mother on the shoulder that she stopped punching their dad. Once she had regained her wits, Lady Kina began to speak again.

" I apologize for that display, Marquess Drake. Don't worry about my Husband, he'll be fine, please let me walk you to the dining room along with your group, who I hope you'll introduce us to."

" Sh- Should I heal him?"

" Who? My Husband? He'll be fine. Let him wake up on his own, I only gave him a light punishment after all."

" Th-That was a " light punishment"?"

Lady Kina just nodded her head and asked us to follow her. The kids followed their mother without much fanfare... Like this was a perfectly normal sight... I looked to Sarah and Anna, they just looked at me like it was a perfectly normal sight to see. Even Princess Alice wasn't shocked.

" Is something like this normal in Diablos?"

" It depends on the house, I think?"

" I see."
