Chapter 261. Anna and Sarah Speak To The Nobles

/BANG! BANG!/

With a loud impact from landing, the Baron and Knight families had arrived inside the Barrier that John had provided right behind the Count families own arrivals. With quite the large crowd now gathered, the Barrier had increased in range to fit everyone. The Barrier by my observation is now around double the size of the church that we are next to. After I summoned a few more plants to help keep the fire alive, Sarah and I then moved to thank the Nobles for their help. Admittedly that was hard to do, as the commoners were currently thanking the Nobles for saving us against that group of bonded ones. That was the case, until Count Sark and Lady Kina saw us. Once we were noticed, their faces that were normally quite calm had changed to a panic.

" Lady Sarah! Lady Anna! Have you seen Tana!? We haven't been able to find her!"

" What about Gasha!? Have you seen Gasha!?"

Immediately after Count Sark had called to us, Count Gorse had followed suit with a similarly panicked face. Without much thought, Sarah answered their questions.

" For right now, they're technically safe. Both of them, along with Cindy Fracks as well as Princess Alice are currently right there."

Sarah didn't mince words and told the Count's exactly what they wanted to know, she then pointed at our enemy still floating above the town.

" What do you mea-.... Who the hell is that!?"

Count Sark was the first to find him in the sky.

" You have got to be kidding me! How do we get to them!?"

Count Gorse was the next to speak. Both asked simple questions, I had some idea how to answer Count Gorse's question, as I'm sure Sarah did as well. But Sark's question... We still had no idea. Panic lingered on the faces of the Counts. On the other hand, Lady Kina and Diana had calmed down significantly. They both turned back to Sarah and I and began to ask their own questions.

" Why did he kidnap them? Is he the reason that the Fracks's mansion is gone? Are there anymore kidnapping victims? What exactly are these things that we've been fighting?"

" Where is Count Fracks? I can see Byron, but why is he injured? Why is your own husband unconscious?"

Lady Kina asked the first bundle of questions; Lady Diana didn't wait for any answers and asked her own rapid-fire questions. Sarah decided to attend to Lady Kina's questions first.

" From what we've gathered, Baron Fracks has been committing blood and life sacrifices to a strange God for at least the last year. Tonight, he was going to attempt a mass sacrifice in the hope that he would bring back Lady Cindra from the dead. Our Husband became aware of this, so we attempted to stop him... We thought we were, but from what I can tell, the God took over Count Fracks's body which caused the explosion. The God is now attempting to kill everyone in this town or turn them into his slaves with black seeds that bind and bond themselves to people that come into contact with them. As for if there are any more kidnapping victims, I doubt there will be, those 4 were captured mostly to keep us here so he can kill us at the end of this event."

Sarah answered calmly while staring at our enemy in the sky. While she dealt with a few emotions of her own, I proceeded to answer Lady Diana's question.

" As for the questions you asked, Lady Diana. Byron attempted to fight the enemy and was beaten, just like the rest of us. Our Husband is unconscious because he protected me from an attack, because at the moment, I'm the only person that thing fears. I have the Job known as Divine Channeler, long story short, I have a contract with a God that counter acts our enemy."
