" Let's go!"
I yell as I run along with Alle to attack the giant. While leaving Anna and John behind me, I had no issue leaving my back to them. They're the people I trust the most in the world after all.
/ Rumble!/
Seems Alle and I weren't the only ones picking up speed, the giant seemed to be attempting to run as well. Seems this one acts the same as it's 44 original bodies. That should be useful for us. I wonder if I carve a path through his chest to his heart and other organs the way I did to my previous opponent? An experiment that would be enjoyable to partake in to be sure... But can Alle do the same as well? Should I try an entirely different strategy since she's now my partner for this battle? Let's see how the first few exchanges go. Speaking of which.
/CLANG! CLANG!/
Loud metallic sounds rang out loud as Alle and my blades came into the chest of the giant. Seems his durability has increased dramatically. Not only that, but the Underworld Goddess's mana seems to only be effective if you're able to injure the opponent. As it is now, I don't think we'll be able to take advantage of our trump cards. I guess we need to turn up the heat a little? I turn to Alle who had just landed next to me on the ground away from the giant and in front of Anna and John.
" We need to find a way to injure him. About how hard did you strike him just now, Alle?"
" Only about 40% I thou-"
/SLAM! CRACK!/
It seems that the giant has learned a few lessons from it's pieces. It doesn't want us communicating it seems. As Alle and I began to speak, it quickly brought a punch down over top of us to try and squish us. Thankfully, Alle and I are quite fast, so we dodged without much effort.
/ CLANG!/
And what good would being fast be if I couldn't land a counterattack before readjusting. This time I struck the giant's lips with my halberd before being repelled by the strength of its skin. The timing of our attacks will need to match each other. If not, we may not be able to crack this natural armor of his.
" Sarah! Any luck!?"
Alle yelled a question at me as the giant had separated us. While not the worst situation, I'd prefer to not have to scream answers across the battlefield at each other. But it seems our enemy doesn't really care for my wants.
" No!"
I answer with one word that I feel is good enough to convey the fact I did nothing with my little counter. I hit the giant originally with what I was able to cut the smaller one with. If I had to give a number, it would be around 35% of my strength. This time, I used around 40%, but still that monster just took the blow and continued to act as if a feather landed on him instead of my sharp halberd. It'll be somewhat difficult to crack that skin of his without destroying my halberd. While I would enjoy the challenge as a fun puzzle, today isn't the time to put my fun in battle above what needs to be done to save everyone. With that in mind, I began to yell my new plan to Alle.
" Alle! It's not worth trying to break through his skin! Aim for the soft bits everyone has! Eyes! Ears! If he opens his mouth shoot a sword into his tongue! The important part is t-"
/ BANG! SMASH!/
Again, we were stopped from planning by the giant. At least this time, I seemed to have gotten the general idea across to Alle.
/CLANG! CLANG!/
Seeing as I heard another clang as I aimed to see if I could stab my halberd between the giant's lips, only to hit what I assume was teeth. We'd probably end up needing to use a strategy of a death by a thousand cuts in order to kill this giant. Thankfully, we won't need to with Anna's help. Alle landed on the ground before me this time and she seemed to have some news to share.
