/CLANG! CLANG! CLANK!/

" I yield!"

" You're not staying focused enough, that'll cost you on the field whenever you need to fight! Focus on the enemy first and foremost, only spread your attention out once you've grasped their speed and rhythm!"

Shane had given up after I forced his training sword to fly away from us. His strength is still something to be desired, he still hasn't told me his Job Class, but Uncle said it was strong and he needed training, but how am I supposed to be a good sparring partner if all I can do is offer the bare minimum of guidance? Uncle Cain has spoken to Shane on more than 1 occasion about his Job, but I've always been hushed away. Why that is, I have no idea. There wasn't this much secrecy around my Job Class... And it's one of the rarest in history!

" Eve! Shane! Line up!"

Uncle Cain's voice called out to us; it snapped me out of my thoughts as Shane lined up next to me. We turned to Uncle Cain's voice and stood as straight as we could as Uncle Cain came walking up to me. He had a stern gaze in his eyes as he began to observe my brother and I up and down for a few minutes.

" Good, neither of you are injured from that. Eve, you're doing a great job toughening Shane up, but don't allow him to hurt you either, so much as a scratch from him and I'll be punishing you with strict training in kata and sword practice."

" Why so harsh?"

" Because you're the elder here, Shane needs to learn while you stay sharp. I know you may be feeling frustrated, but that ends today. I had to pull a few strings back at the office, but now with all of the work your father piled on me after our little spat, I can finally really dig my feet into the ground and train you as I wanted to."

" Have you begun speaking to Father again, Uncle?"

Shane asked a question I wanted to know as well. Ever since Uncle and Father had their spat 6 months ago, both of them have simply stopped speaking to each other. From what I can see, it's mostly that they're both upset for different things. Father is upset that Uncle isn't 100% behind him and Uncle Cain is angry that Father won't rethink his plan. His feeling that we shouldn't be involved with the planning of an assassination attempt is one I agree with, I have no want nor desire to allow an assassin to kill my enemies, I want to kill them with my own hands... Especially that damned Marquess Drake. My desire to kill him has only grown with time since he embarrassed me from our first meeting. From calling me pretty during battle, to using tricks and subterfuge to gain openings to the point that I had use a few of my abilities as a War Valkyrie. That completely would blow my cover if not for the fact that no people outside of Alfheim have seen my abilities and lived to tell the tale. I shook the anger from my mind as I watched for Uncle's response to Shane's question.

" No. And I don't plan on speaking to him for quite some time. I'd like to not speak about this with you both for the foreseeable future. This is an issue between 2 men, you shouldn't have to be caught in the middle of it."

" But you're both our family, Uncle."

" That may be so, but having family caught in the middle of the feud just makes more anger and resentment to grow. Both your father and I have dug our boots in the sand already, no good will come trying to drag our stubborn rears out of it for the time being."

With that, Uncle Cain ended the conversation.

/BOOM!/

" What was that!?"
