Chapter 263. Acting? Testing? Planning?

" Now that fills in most of everything."

" God Of The Blackwood? What a strange God to pray to..."

" I'm assuming an ancient Demon or Human... Or Beastman.... Or an ancient ancestor of the dominant races must've chosen the name... Regardless, it's the name he was given and it's the name of the thing we need to defeat. The question is how..."

To Lady Diana's comment about the guy's name, I was more concerned with how to beat him finally. While I have a few ideas, it'll be hard to test them since he's currently staring at me since I noticed he was up there. Which brings another question to my head.

" Hey, Anna, has he been looking at us in this Barrier the whole time I was out?"

I asked to Anna because I wanted to confirm something.

" No. He's been looking around the town for the last hour or 2... Since he went there if I were to guess."

" Thought so."

I look back up at him and see how his stare wasn't so much based on looking at the survivors, but actually looking at me. Can he tell? If so, I'll need to do some things rather quickly.

" What do you mean? Do you have an idea that you'd like to let us know about?"

Count Gorse spoke in confusion as the words left my mouth. I guess it does seem kind of strange to think that I can understand what a God is thinking. But with what was just said to me, I can more or less tell that he probably can sense something is different about me.

" I think he knows that we can hurt him now that I'm awake."

" And how do you plan on doing that? I feel like I need to remind you about the 4 girls he currently has up there floating in his grasp."

Lady Kina seemed to think that I was forgetting about the predicament that Princess Alice, Lady Cindy, Gasha and Tana were in. But that couldn't be further from the truth, in fact, my plans all started with freeing them. The only question would be what the correct course of action would be. First things first. I need to know what we're working with. And to do that, I need to know something about Anna.

" Anna, is it possible for you to imbue the Nature Goddess's mana into other people's weapons? I know you didn't do it earlier with Sarah, but we thought she would be able to hold off Fracks regardless, now though... We need every edge we can get."

" Yes, I can, but it takes a lot of mana to do. When I'm the one holding the weapon or weapons, it's like a big flame having a stick stuck into it. The stick will catch fire without much effort."

" And when the big flame, in this case, your hands, aren't touching the weapons, it's more like needing to prepare a torch or something to keep the flame lit. Which in turn means more or less, you'd be using a more complicated spell than simply holding it yourself."

Anna nodded to my answer. In easier terms, it's the difference between being plugged into a wall socket or being battery powered. Sure, it's convenient while the battery is there, but the process to make the battery is complicated.

" Then that means we'll need to try something different. My Holy Flames might work if I light up their weapons..."

" Wouldn't the flames eat up the wooden handles on most of the weapons? Or even heat up the metal parts to the point that their weapons melt?"

Sarah interjected with basic problems I wasn't thinking of.

" True, but what about the mithril weapons? They have a higher melting point than steel or iron, right?"

" But that only really accounts for the Count families, no?"

All 3 of us looked at the crowd who were weirdly silent and looking at us strangely.
