I groan softly as the bright lights of the office practically blind me. It's ungodly that those two cokeheads think it's ok to host a company party and still make us come to work the next day. I mean a true party in every sense of the word too, I'm pretty sure there were strippers but I digress. I walk almost blindly to my office, only opening my eyes if I hear footsteps coming closer.

Once I arrive I close my door and sigh, slumping back into my chair and fully closing my eyes. I hope they don't expect any serious work out of us today, or at least not me, because I'm pooped. I log in to my computer, cursing softly at the brightness before turning it down. I see there's not much to do today which I'm grateful for because Mondays are usually packed with things.

I work on replying to emails, proofing and editing some documents to be sent off, scrolling on my phone in between for little breaks. Lunch time is soon but it seems I have an appointment with Miss Venable beforehand; I grab my wallet and keys so I can just leave right after. I knock softly on her office door, taking a deep breath and entering at her command. I'm not necessarily scared of her but she can be a bit intimidating for sure.

She gestures for me to sit, never making eye contact and continuing to type away — I assume finishing an email. Once she's done it's still silent and I decide to speak up.

"Crazy party right?"

Out of all things I could've said, of course I chose something dumb.

"Oh quite"

She chuckles to herself and the way she looks at me insinuates she knows something I don't.

"Did anything interesting happen? I don't remember much"

I know she's very observant and I'm very nosy, what a perfect pair.

"You really don't remember?"

She seems to be in disbelief and I shake my head paired with creased brows, she glances at the clock.

"It's lunch time... why don't I tell you over some food?"

I accept excitedly, having never spoken to her outside the office or rather outside of work. She smirks and I know it's at the smile on my face. She insists upon driving so I let her take me to a quaint restaurant nearby where we get sat surprisingly fast.

Wilhemina's pov
I wait until our food comes, just observing and frankly admiring her. Her little dimple that shows when she smiles or the way she looks around as she speaks. Normally I would prefer eye contact but I like being able to stare at her when she's not focusing on me. I also know it's a bit of a nervous habit of hers and I rather enjoy making her squirm.

"So, about last night"

last night

I'm sitting in the booth at this rather grimy little venue while most of my coworkers are dancing or taking shots. I sip on my wine, daydreaming of my bed and my cat Winona. I'm only here to show face, let the idiots know I came, and then leave. That's what I do every time, show up for an hour or so and then slip out. They never notice because most of them are either drunk off their asses — actually on their assess, or they simply are just too egotistical to care.

However, I will admit it's entertaining seeing them make a fool of themselves. As my eyes are trained on two people holding onto each other, praying one of them falls, I feel the seat cushion dip beside me. I avert my gaze to see Y/n and my features soften.

"Hiiii Venny Winnie"

I raise my eyebrows in amusement; it's clear that she's drunk or extremely tipsy at the least. I'm a bit surprised that she came to me, especially in this state.
