Yelena waited in the hallway and paced in front of the door as she waited. Bruce had already gone in and out three or four times but she wouldn't dare go in. This was just like last time. How could she let this get out of hand again? Y/n's plan was solid and good for the widows. It would have given them a new purpose and no one would be forcing them. Maybe it was too good to be true. Yelena really believed in Y/n.
"You have a whole lot of explaining to do. And don't lie to me." Natasha's voice appeared behind her as well as the sound of her shoes clicking on the floor. Yelena took a deep breath and told her sister everything about the past few weeks, from her own disappearance all the way to what happened earlier with Y/n. She spared no detail and by the end, Natasha was speechless. How could she have been so blind and fallen for Y/n's words that easily? Either she has too much faith in that kid or she taught her how to lie a little too well, or maybe it was a combination of both.
"I am sorry for this, Natasha. I wanted to help her." Yelena whined a little, her accent thick on her words. Her sister looked back at her, a little bit disappointed, and her arms folded over each other in front of her chest. "Yelena, you could have helped her by talking her out of this. What was she thinking? Controlling the multiverse? This is the second time that she - not only built a dangerous machine that tempers with space and time - but also had her little helper Yelena Belova by her side."
"Last time was different. I wanted my sister back." Yelena mumbled. Natasha rolled her eyes a little bit. "Yes, and the moment I came back, you left." She did not want to fight with her sister but she was a little angry with Yelena at the moment. No one was certain of what could happen to Y/n. She could be dead in the next hour or be in this coma for the next few weeks.Yelena looked up at her sister through her lashes. "I'm sorry, Natasha." She apologized and she would keep apologizing if that's what it took for her sister to look at her. She really felt guilty. In the room behind the door, suddenly, sounded the beeps of the monitor that were hooked up to Y/n's heart and lungs. The sisters shot a glance at each other before rushing through the door.
Peter stood up from his seat, as well as Harley on the other side, and stepped away from the bed. Bruce came in right behind Natasha. He gently pushed her aside to get to the bed where Y/n's limp body rested. The beeps were going abnormally fast.
"What's happening? Why is her heart going so fast?" Bruce stood by Y/n's body and started to check the statistics that the monitor showed. "This is not good. This is not good." Bruce mumbled as he quickly raced to the other side. Natasha stood by Peter's side grabbing his arm tightly as he looked at his girlfriend. "Banner?"
"I'm working on it! Do not distract me right now please."
Peter's breath hitched when he looked at Y/n lying helplessly in her bed. The monitor was beeping like crazy. Yelena stood by Harley silently and watched as Bruce started to type on his tablet and the monitors. He looked panicked. Little drops of sweat were on his forehead while he moved around as quickly as he could. "Friday, call Tony," Bruce said.Y/n backed up a little when Norman Osborn stepped out of the smoke and revealed his face. He was imaginary, but he looked so real, and he was right in front of her. "Goblins don't look like that," Loki spoke up behind her. "Yeah? Well, this one does." He laughed again at them and reached out his hand to touch Y/n's cheek. Stepping away did not work, he would be right in front of her either way. Y/n kept her eyes locked with Norman as his thumb brushed over her cheek. "Smart little girl." He said to her.
All that Y/n could think about was how he hurt Peter and killed May, what he could've done to her as well if he had gotten the proper chance. "Why did you think of him?" Loki asked her. Why did she? She remembered Peter mentioning Norman and Octavius just before she passed out. "I think I did because Peter said his name. I started thinking about what Norman said to me. He was nice and nothing extraordinary or dangerous." She looked at his bright grin beaming at her. "He has a darker half that people call the goblin. When Peter looked at me I could only think about how much we were alike because we both hurt people."
Norman lowered his hand again and his gaze darkened a bit. "You almost completed your tasks. Why did you stop? You could have had everything you ever wanted and worked so hard for, honey." He said to her. It took her way back to when they were at Happy's apartment with all the villains months ago and Peter worked so hard to save them from a tragic fate that was waiting for them on the other side. "You could have had true power and you let yourself be stopped by Spider-Man."
"Peter stopped me because that was the right thing to do. I was acting crazy." Y/n spat back.
