Bucky made his way up the stairs. The house was completely silent aside from their footsteps. Peter went inside first and woke up his girlfriend. "Hey, doll," Bucky said as he stood by one side of her bed once he thought it was right to come inside. Y/n looked up at him and blinked a couple of times. She dozed off a little. "Hi." She greeted him and started to push herself up. Though the hiss she exclaimed did not go by unnoticed. "Hey, hey... take it easy," Peter told his girlfriend and pushed a pillow behind her back for comfort. "Are you in pain?" Y/n shook her head and pressed her hand over her chest again. Her stitches tightened when she moved. "I just felt my stitches, that's all." Peter kissed her cheek. Y/n quickly checked, very nonchalantly, if she pulled something and started bleeding. "I'm fine." She said and started to push herself out of bed, only for Bucky to push her back. "Take it easy, doll." He smiled at her. "How are you feeling? Overall?" Y/n nodded and looked a little sheepishly at the man in front of her. "I'm okay." She said to him. Peter rubbed her shoulder gently. Y/n glanced up when she saw Harley smiling at him when he waved. "I'm feeling a little useless here if I'm honest." She said to them. Peter pressed another few kisses to her cheek. "You're not useless. I'm glad you had a little rest." He said to her. She kicked her feet under the covers and leaned back against the pillow Peter stuffed behind her back. Bucky tapped her hands with his. "Hey... they told me about what happened with your dad and Natasha earlier." He told her. Y/n sighed and brushed his hand away. "I don't want to think or talk about that right now if you don't mind." She replied. What good would it do? He can't do anything or change it. She could not wait to tell Bucky about this lady. He might have a few good tricks up his sleeve.

"Y/n..." Bucky tried. "Bucky." She quickly spat back and scooted a little toward the end of her bed. The man shifted to give her a little space. "Doll, I'd love to help you out, but I do think you should take it easy. Especially when your boyfriend is looking at you like that." Y/n glanced over her shoulder to her right to see Peter. "Are you checking my heart rate?" She asked him. Peter held up his hands. "I'm making sure you're okay, that's all. It sounded a little off, Y/n/n. Caught my attention." He did not want to sound too overprotective of her. Y/n shoots her boyfriend a slightly irritated gaze, but turns back to Bucky. "Y/n, you need to take it easy. If you want to talk to anyone, you can talk to me. That's what you always said." Bucky told her. She did tell him that whenever he was at his lowest and wanted to ignore everyone around him, even those who tried to help him. "I don't want to right now. You can't do anything about it, and Tony wasn't completely wrong about it either." This was not something she needed Bucky to agree or disagree with her on. "You may not want to. But it'll make you feel better." Another like Y/n has used with him over the years. She has been so good to him. When she stayed quiet, Bucky tilted his head slightly to try and make eye contact with her. "Y/n." He said. "He yelled at me, and he was right to do so. Is that what you want to hear? I'm a mess, and I got everything I deserved. I lost everything I worked for these last years, and this is the last thing I want to do right. At least try to make it right." Y/n blurted it all out and then sealed her lips again. "Y/n -" Bucky tried again. This time, Peter and Harley also wanted to cut in. "James." Y/n cut him off in the same tone.

The boys both covered their mouths to try and hide their chuckles. Bucky, fortunately, did not seem to mind that she used that name. Nobody used that name anymore; back in the day, they did. "Wanna tell me why this is so important to you? Or do you just want to get back at your dad?" He knows her well enough not to rule that option out immediately. "I have a bad feeling about this lady, Buck. A really bad feeling. I want to focus on this lady. The last thing we need is more loose threads." That is a wise decision; he has to give her credit for that. "Is that the only reason why you're so set on this?" He questioned. "Or is it something else?" Y/n frowned until she realized what he must have been talking about. "Maybe." She mumbled under her breath. "Wait, I'm not following," Harley spoke up. Y/n's eyes darted between him and Bucky. She briefly turned to look at Peter, too. "You're still thinking about it," Bucky said. Y/n nodded her head sadly. "There are so many signs." She mumbled. Peter looked at her. "Baby, is this about Loki? About what he said to you?" Bucky locked his gaze with Peter. "It was a dream." He turned back to Y/n. "We talked about this. It was just a dream." Y/n's eyes became desperate as she swallowed loudly. "It doesn't feel like that. How would you know? You weren't there." That sounds very childish. Could he tell her otherwise? "I know, baby," Peter mumbled to her. Even if it was just a dream, Y/n was clearly still bothered by it, and Peter couldn't tell her to ignore it. She won't listen to him. "Toomes stole from me, Bucky. He can rule the world with this thing. And if she works with him, and my dad locks him up, then she might come back to complete his work. My dad was right. This keeps getting more and more dangerous." Y/n told him.
