"Are you thirsty?" Tony asked her sweetly. He was already holding the glass of water with a straw in his hand. He helped her sit up a little after she nodded. Bruce said she should drink as much water as possible to stay hydrated. She has lost a lot of blood. Tony was very gentle with her. He is terrified something might go wrong. Bruce's words were still running through his mind. Y/n is not supposed to be awake. Her body can't heal like this and that is what worries Bruce most of all. 'Her body is already having a hard time. Now that she's awake, it will only become more difficult and uneasy for her' Bruce said. He was being honest with Tony, and he appreciated that, but the biggest part of him wished he hadn't told him that at all. Morgan and Pepper had come by as well earlier. Tony didn't have the courage to tell Pepper that piece of information yet. 'Can't we put her back to sleep?' Tony had asked. Bruce only responded with a small 'maybe' and his voice full of uncertainty and fear. "Thank you," Y/n said after she took a couple of sips. "You're welcome." Tony set the glass down, "Hey, baby, listen to me." Y/n turned to her father with a frightened expression on her face. "I know that you're scared and that you're in pain, but I'm not going anywhere. Okay? You get that?" Y/n nodded her head. "Nothing's going to happen to you anymore. I'm right here." Y/n squirmed a little against the large pillow her mother had brought for her earlier. "I'm scared, Dad. About what's gonna happen with me now." Y/n admitted quietly. Tony pulled his chair a little bit closer to her. "What if he comes back for me? It's all my stupid fault anyway and I-" Tony gently pressed her shoulders back down.

"Don't say that. Okay?" He said, "I'm right here. I don't think Keener's going to let you out of his sight that easily." Y/n smiled at that. She started to fiddle with her hands. "Peter wouldn't either." She added. Tony forced down all his negative comments and smiled back at the girl in front of him. He brushed a little bit of hair from her ears so it wouldn't bother her. "You'll be okay. It may not seem like it right now, but it'll be okay." Bruce would do anything in his power to fix her and Strange would help him. "It's all going to be okay." Tony pressed a loving kiss on her forehead. Y/n smiled and shut her eyes for a couple of seconds. She really struggled to open them again. "Where is Peter?" She questioned. Tony glanced around the room. He saw Peter talking with Harley near the exit. Neither of them seemed very pleased, but rather serious. "He's gonna be with you in a second, okay? He and Keener are just talking over there." He explained to her. Y/n sighed and tried to ignore the pain in her chest. Breathing was hard. Her whole body hurt but the most pain came from within her chest. "There is someone else here for you. He wanted to say hi. And I'll allow it... if you promise to stay calm, okay?" Tony sounded a little hesitant. Y/n nodded her head sleepily, not really giving any thought to who was coming. All that mattered was that her father and her boyfriend were close. Tony said something but Y/n did not hear it. Bucky Barnes stepped into view. Y/n's eyes flew wide open, her eyebrows going way up to her hairline, and her heart rate picking up.

Bucky Barnes and Tony Stark in the same room together? He was a taboo in her household. No one ever spoke of him, not even after what happened in Germany with him and Cap. Tony quickly pressed his daughter back into the pillow because she was trying to get up again and his breath hitched. "Sweetheart, you have to stay down. I don't want you to pull any other stitches." He told her. "What are you... Bucky? What are you doing here?" She whispered. The man smiled at her warmly. "It's okay, it's okay," He assured her. "It's okay, doll..." Y/n had a terrified expression written across her face when she turned her head to her father again. "I did not invite him." He said. Bucky nodded his head sheepishly and pressed his lips together forming a thin line. He looked like a cat she saw online once. "Pete asked me to come. He needed some help with something." Y/n furrowed her eyebrows together. Nothing to worry about? Was that supposed to not sound suspicious? Because it did. "Why would Pete... Pete came to you?" She turned to her father with another questioning look. Neither Tony nor Bucky wanted to explain the entire story to her. Y/n would only get worried and be at risk, that couldn't happen. "Why... Dad, why didn't Pete... if he needed help he could-" She squeezed her eyes shut and whined in pain. Tony shushed her again. "Slow breaths, baby. Slow breaths." He instructed her. Y/n had no choice but to follow his advice. The pain in her chest was only growing when she was worried like this. "Pete told me what happened to you. He invited me over to come and see you." Bucky explained to her. "Checking up on you. Just like you did with me, right, doll?" Y/n nodded her head and sighed again. Of all the faces she could have seen here, the last person she expected was Bucky Barnes.
