Night had fallen. Peter was getting ready to go and see Y/n. Bruce scared him a little bit with his chat this afternoon. It definitely made him halt at the door at least three times before he actually gathered enough energy to touch the doorknob. "Pete, I want you to be careful," May told him. "And take care of Y/n." Bruce had scared her, too. She loves Y/n almost as much as she loves Peter. He knows that look in her eyes, and she would run all the way to that house to make sure Y/n is safe and secure herself. If he hadn't told her to stay, then she would've done it. "I will. I'm going!" He called as he opened the door. He stood eye to eye with Adrian Toomes. His mouth opened, but he didn't make a noise. The villain pressed his finger against his lips and curled the ones on his other hand for Peter to follow him outside calmly. "Bye, Pete!" May called before he shut the door behind him. Worry shot through him, and let it sink in how close this man was to his aunt. The only real family he has left. If Toomes lays a hand on May... He's done it before. Peter knows he can get really angry. This time, there wouldn't be anyone around to stop him if they needed to. "What are you doing here?" Peter questioned, his fists clenched in case he needed to react quickly. Toomes chuckled at him. "From you? Oh, uh... Revenge for locking me behind bars all this time. And for what you did to my daughter." He summed up quickly. The slight sarcasm in his tone made Peter even more suspicious. "You were stealing. Liz and I were never officially a thing. We just went to Homecoming together." As if that was going to ease away the hate. "Still breaks a father's heart. And I already told you, kid, I work hard just like everybody else. Guys like us need to work until our hands bleed." The villain gestured with a hand between the two of them. "As much as I want to chat about that, that's not why I'm here." He continued. "I'm here with a simple warning, Pedro. If I see any more of your superhero friends near my property, you're gonna have a couple more funerals on your hands. Do you understand that?"

This has already gone far enough. Threatening with more death and pain? All Peter could think about was how May was literally only a door away. Norman Osborn got to her, too. He wasn't quick enough. He couldn't let that happen again. May can't die again, she won't. "I never wanted this," Peter said whilst shaking his head. "You are the one who came back." The first thing he did was rush to Y/n and threaten her. All he wants is revenge. Why can't he see that he has a wife and daughter waiting for him at home every single day? Not a lot of people would have stayed or gotten back with their partners after they went to prison. Toomes laughed and rubbed his chin. "Because your girlfriend had something I wanted. Last time I... spoke with her, she wasn't exactly friendly. Nor helpful." Peter's jaw clenched thinking about it. He hadn't properly talked to Y/n about what happened. "You almost killed her." She was unconscious, barely breathing. She could have died. Bruce's chat from earlier wasn't helping him with this either. Peter could only think that the Vulture had made her condition worse. "She killed herself." The man spat back at the boy. "She told me herself." The young Stark had been very open throughout that little time they had, and he recalled every second perfectly. He found that there was something special about that day, not just because he captured the daughter who carried the name of the man he hated most of all in this world. Though he'd never tell a soul, there was a level of understanding that day. He can't exactly explain how or why. He did not feel bad for the girl, certainly didn't pity her. Curiosity. He sympathized with her a little. Truly, Toomes meant what he said when he was sorry about Tony. But that was before he discovered the man was still alive. He didn't need an explanation, nor did he want it.

She was open – of course she was, she thought she was going to die. Why else would she have been so open? Telling the man who kidnapped her what happened? Almost trying to make things right for both of them. Finding excuses. And still, he couldn't bring it up to actually feel bad for her. "And you thought... why not go ahead and grab what I want? If you couldn't get her to hand it over, just grab it. No harm done." Peter spat. "Well, it was certainly a lot easier than waiting for her to open her mouth." Unlike her father, Y/n was not a talker. She only responded when spoken to. Different from Stark senior. Toomes was smiling as he talked. "And I discovered a lovely little secret." Peter frowned at him. Poor boy looked so angry. "Not that I care. It only adds someone to my list." His list? What the hell is that supposed to mean? Do all bad guys just have a list of people they hate? Do they put them on a whiteboard and put mean things behind their names? "You won't succeed at whatever you're doing." Peter would stop him, like he did before. "No. I may not." Toomes said calmly. "But if I do, you and your webs won't stop me. And neither your girlfriend nor her father. How is she, by the way?" He was only saying that to get on his nerves more. The hair on Peter's arms and on the back of his neck was standing up straight. Toomes was not concerned about her safety or health. "So, you came all this way to tell me this?" Peter asked him. He was ready to shoot his webs at the door to lock his aunt inside if he tried anything. The Vulture did not just come to his building, to his home – he doesn't even wonder how he knew where he lived – to have a quick chat.
