Ned plopped down on the couch in Peter and May's living room. MJ kicked off her shoes in the hallway before she followed his example and sat down. "She really went?" He questioned. Peter nodded and scratched the back of his head, his curls getting tangled. "At least he bought it." Although it did not feel right, there was nothing he could do about it. Y/n was already gone. They played their parts right. "I'm not sure if I like this plan. Y/n is hanging out with those guys. It's not that I don't trust her, but these guys tried to kill you and us." MJ said after sitting down. Peter hadn't told his aunt about this yet, and that was just as well. They had to wait until she was gone to discuss it. May would have marched into the night and not return until she found her again. Yeah, his aunt is going to become a very dangerous lady one day, when she becomes too old to care anymore. Ned looked curiously at Peter to see if there was so much more to come. They were just getting started. "What do we do now?" Peter smiled boyishly. "Stop them. The old-fashioned way." His best friend's face immediately lit up with joy and a little hint of mischief. "Guy in the chair?" His enthusiasm was contagious. Peter started smiling, too; his mood immediately a whole lot better compared to before his friends got here. "I was hoping you'd say that." He was losing his mind a little, worrying over Y/n. He couldn't talk to May about it, and he couldn't exactly call Tony either. This is not a topic you gossip about; it's way too serious. Peter is worried!
MJ did not appear to be very impressed with them or their enthusiasm. Their smiles were not pulling her in right away. "What are you dumbasses gonna do?" She leaned back against the back of the couch. Peter shrugged, and Ned turned to her. "What we've always done." Still not convinced. MJ shook her head. "Hope for a miracle to happen. Because your plans haven't always worked out that well. It's hard to believe sometimes that you're still alive." Harsh. Very harsh but true. Peter sat down with his friends. "Thank you, MJ. I really appreciate that." Finally, he got a smile out of her. "Happy to help." He could get through a lot of trouble with Tony, Natasha, Bucky, you name them. Constantly checking if they're real and not Mysterio's spies? That was going to tire him out quickly. But if Y/n's plan works, they'll be done quickly enough and rid themselves of these bad guys. Y/n is still high on the list, and she can have the FBI arrest everyone with a single click. If they play their cards right...
"Is Y/n keeping contact with you or something like that? Does she have one of those spy gadgets on her?" Ned asked her. He was dying to have a little more action in his life. School is great and all that, but he sometimes forgets that his best friend is a superhero. He imagined Y/n dressed like an awesome combo of Iron Man and Black Widow merged together with a pinch of Captain America in there, along with all her gadgets. Like a true comic superhero, she would storm in and catch the bad guys! Oh, he hopes she's wearing some kind of body cam so they can watch back all the action some other day like a home video. Like the one his Lola watches almost once a month. She laughs at the family members she really does not like whenever they come on screen.
"No, she doesn't. I'm completely blind in all of this." He wished he could use that to his advantage, but how? There was nothing he could do or use, sadly enough. Sit and wait around. "We could try to hack into their computers. Maybe we could get into their cams or whatever. See what they're doing." Ned suggested. "That's not a bad idea. I like that. Get a little more insight."
His friends were wildly curious about what had happened the day before. What it was like to be there, in front of that man, after all this time. All three of them believed Mysterio was dead. What's it like to stand in front of a ghost? "Did you touch him?" Ned suddenly blurted out. Peter and MJ snapped their heads in his direction with frowns on their faces. "Not like that! I mean, like, to check if he was real. Like that girl." Y/n caught their friends up on every little detail they may have missed. Ned had at least three hot chocolates and four muffins – like they were snacks during an intense scene from a movie, and you just start stuffing your mouth. "She told you about that?" Peter asked. MJ hummed and nodded. "She did. And you're lucky she hasn't bitten off your head." Suddenly, Peter was very happy that he was the only one in their relationship who had any kind of spider-like feature. "But they bought it, right? Y/n said you were gonna act all overprotective. " Ned asked, switching to another subtopic. "We sold it well, I think. Y/n's a better actress than I am." He replied. Part of it came naturally – he is protective of his girlfriend. "You mean a better liar," MJ smirks playfully. "Kidding." Although she was not completely wrong. "Can we focus? Guys. Please?"
