Was it time to start worrying? Y/n was not certain yet as she paced back and forth throughout the room. Pepper has no idea and does not seem as bothered by her father's absence as she was. Natasha and Tony have been gone for two days. Her mother must still be used to the thought of not having Tony around for a while. The house was quiet without him, which is quite an accomplishment with a small child in the house who has access to all kinds of toys. This, along with Peter, who had not come by yet, again, was too much. Spider-Man swung around the city all night, fighting crime. She even saw a couple of things on social media and the news. She did not even know for sure if he was safely back home. No one knows how that fight ended. Some theories are going around online on this fight taking a toll on Spider-Man and his abilities, claiming he is badly injured. Peter had not texted her at all – he usually does. Even if they had a fight or some kind of off-vibe between them, he would still message her, wouldn't he? Peter, Tony, Natasha. This was getting to her head. How is her mother so calm about all?
Of course, she thought about it. How could she not? That strange lady is out there, roaming around freely – she is out for Peter. Either that or she is just waiting to get to Y/n instead. Bucky asked her this same question yesterday. Think Pete's gonna run into her again? She was not sure. What if he had? Pete had proved that he was not perfect. She has not forgiven or forgotten. They can fight about that some other time when they don't have a clock ticking above their heads. But what if he had run into her again? Or even worse, what if she knows they are onto her?
Putting a label on her. What even is she? Is she even real? The found footage has been played a hundred times already, both physically in front of her and inside her mind. As the rain gently ticked against the windows, Y/n continued to pace around. This is all she could think about. She could not share it with her mother or her little sister. The distance between Peter and her needed to be maintained for her own well-being, but they didn't need to cut the wires completely. Bucky is just a man trying to live his life; she can't call him for everything. Harley has been managing her projects during her absence and staring at the same footage she has been for the past few days. He should be here soon.
Y/n wished she could check in with Tony or Natasha. She has been left in the dark. Harley said he warned Tony about the Vulture. He did not blow it out of proportion for the dramatic effect. He warned the man, and he went anyway. Iron Man wants to save the day, what else is new? Tony Stark and his obsession with world peace. She does not want to have her father's body shipped to her in a box by Toomes. Imagine what that woman would do to Peter, if Toomes already wanted to chop her father into pieces, what would he tell her to do to him? Tony is not as young as he once was. Could he still take on big villains? God, she needs to calm her mind. If she continues to ramble on and on in her mind, her head will explode. Her heart was going crazy as well. Peter would have told her to sit down by now. But he is not here, is he? It's nothing like Peter to ghost her. Could this be considered ghosting? Perhaps he forgot. He's not asleep. It is way past lunchtime, and Peter is awake.
The woman. Perhaps she should try and calmly try to figure that out. Y/n shuffled toward the couch and sat down. Her hands rested in her lap, and she stared at the wall. She could think a lot better if she were zoned out or in some kind of trance on purpose. The woman. What does she know about herself? Black Cat. Someone seriously had issues. Black Cat. Does she want to be 'that girl'? Y/n hates her with every bone and muscle in her body. Her blood boils at the thought of her and what she and Peter could be up to. Her mind quickly took a turn and imagined Peter spending a night with this woman. The boy has proven not to be innocent, though he did try to keep his distance from Black Cat. He did not kiss her. When will her brain stop? Please.
"You look like a psycho." Y/n blinked to see Harley with his backpack right in front of her. He appeared after she fluttered her eyelashes three times. "Are you plotting a murder?" She stood back up from the couch and almost stubbed her knee against the coffee table when she walked past it so fast. "Maybe." Harley chuckled and followed her to her bedroom, where they could talk privately without Morgan or Pepper trying to eavesdrop. Bruce and Strange had given her strict orders to take it easy, and she would not let her daughter out of the house. In a few days, she would have another check-up, which she believes is as useless and a waste of time as driving to McDonald's and not getting anything. At this point, Y/n wants to go through her days without bleeding to death. If she wakes up again tomorrow, then her day's already made. These people are so obsessed with keeping her alive that Y/n has already given up.
