Citadel Republic.
Bell, Rica, Sakura and Tessia appeared in Citadel Republic, the second largest city in the Nature Hills realm only second to Longevity City.
Holding Rica's hand, he brought them to a hostel by the name of "Crystal Hostel".
After booking two rooms, he led Rica into one room and made the two girls turn to sword form.
He then sat down on a chair and ushered for her to sit down on the bed.
"So, Rica was it?"
"Yes...teacher?"
"Just call me whatever you want, it's annoying when people use honourifics. Besides, i'm only turning nineteen this year so..."
Rica's mouth went agape, nineteen years of age?
Bell's mouth curved upwards and he smiled saying,"Oh? You're probably thinking how I became so strong at only twenty?"
Rica nodded saying,"Teacher Bell, twenty is a very young age for people who tread on the path to power! Normally, after becoming magi, they usually have over a few thousand years of life! Even mortals have a few hundred years at least! If I can become as powerful as you at such a young age, then I wouldn't have been abandoned..."
Bell sighed, patting Rica's head,"You poor, poor child. Abandoned by your family whom you trust, left to die in the woods, not a kind single soul helped you till you met my disciple, Dullahan, who taught what I taught him when he was just a little boy. Your elemental control is truly commendable. Fret not, when I said twenty, I meant twenty on the outside. Every few million years, I age a day. So after several million years, I age a full year. After I hit thirty, it reverts my outer appearance to that of when I was sixteen. This condition of mine is what I call [Eclipse]. But whenever I revert, I lose all my memories and a significant portion of my powers for around fifteen to twenty years. So on the outside, I do look nineteen but on the inside? I'm probably the oldest person in the thirteen worlds..."
Rica finally nodded in understanding, getting to where he was now in twenty years was impossible unless there was some condition or a different way of counting.
This kind of power was something that could only be accumulated over several million years.
"Now. Rica, I ask you a few questions. Answer them truthfully."
"Yes teacher."
"Firstly, how did you meet your previous mentor?"
"My old teacher found me in the Weeping Willow Woods after I was thrown out of my house as my family couldn't afford to keep a 'worthless' daughter like me. I begged them to let me stay but they threatened to sell me to the slave merchants if I didn't leave."
"Do you want revenge?"
"No. What they did was to live on, furthermore, if they didn't choose to cast me out that day, I wouldn't have met my old teacher."
"How did he pass on?"
"Teacher and I were on our way to Longevity City to enter the tournament. Teacher said wanted to meet old friends when we were ambushed by people disguised as beasts sent by Northwood Kingdom. On them were papers sent by Northwood Kingdom to kill anyone who passed by them. The weapons they used were all infused with poison and teacher perished as he gave me the cure to save me instead of himself."
