Wilderness
Bell's POVI stay in the makeshift hut I fashioned out of oak wood for a few days.
I had been resting and relaxing, I was preparing to face the ruler of a realm after all!
How could I not get nervous!
In truth, I had already broken through the Sovereign level and have reached Early Paragon stage but I had to keep it all hush-hush so as to prevent it from leaking out and scaring the supposed [Prideful Ruler] away.
"Well, one more day huh? One last day of relaxation before it all goes to hell." I lay in my hammock and slowly drift to sleep.
~Chaotic Mist Realm
3rd Person POVBell woke up on the cold hard ground.
The moment he realised his surroundings were different, he went on full alert before realising this was the realm of that really weird man.
"Hello, Bell. I believe we've met before. Remember me?" A strange, inhumane black figure appeared from within the shadows and stepped in front of Bell.
"Tsk. You again. What do you want? Here to give me another next to impossible task again?" He retorted in anger.
"Oh? I sense quite a bit of animosity coming from you. Perhaps we've gotten off on the wrong foot and i've somehow offended you?" The man replied with a hint of humour and mockery in his tone.
"Let me get this off my chest. You sent me to another realm for god knows why and want me to kill the ruler of said realm thus plunging the world into chaos and then effectively getting away with me being the scapegoat." Bell shouted in unbridled anger. He had originally put this thought away but after seeing the man, all his doubts began to rise up again.
What was this man's true goal?
Did he really send him here out of goodwill?
No.
Bell refused to believe it, nothing in any world was free.
Simply put, if you get something for free, the person you obtained it from would often ask for something in return, be it at a later time.
"Ohoho? You truly think that is my true plan? You truly are still quite naive in your way of thinking Bell." The man's tone full of mockery.
"What then? If not for the pure purpose of causing havoc, why have you summoned me and given me this chance to become strong?" Bell ask questioningly.
"Very well, since you have been a very good boy these past few years, I shall tell you. You see- in this...Multiverse, there are gods- not omnipotent beings like everyone imagines but people who have reached the "apex" of power for their kind. And these...gods are immortal. Yes, immortal. Infinite life. However, it isn't as easy as it seems though. I have personally experienced this."
Bell motioned for the man to continue." With infinite life, comes infinite boredom. We aren't allowed to wreak havoc as we please and have to follow the rules set by the rulers of the gods. The [Creator]. It's a being on the same level as the [Heavenly Ruler] and only weaker to the [Monarch God]- not that'd you know any of these names. Anyways, I am but one of the many gods who wish to break the shackles of the rules but alas, I cannot. However, you, my boy, just might be able to. I don't know how you came about or why. All I know is that you are a heaven-defying existence. If the [Creator] found out of you, you'd be killed on the spot. So now, I want you, to go and kill the [Sinful Seven]. Heard of the book called the Bible? It's something the [Creator] made in his free time. They created the book and distributed it into several realms. It's quite popular you know? Some realms' citizens all revere the "God" they create in there. It's quite amusing and the [Creator] found it funny too considering he actually made a new god and named him [Humanity's Idol]. Gave him a bit of power told him to go around doing minor stuff to amuse him. You should go find some discs with the recordings of him going around creating "miracles". It's quite cheap too."
Bell was astonished.
How could he not be?
The person this man was describing right now was the faith devout followers back in his world revered.
And this man was just a minor character in the world of the gods made for someone's amusement on a whim?
He was awestruck by the power of this [Creator].
"Oh Heavens, i've been ranting for a bit. Pardon me. Anyways, back in track, where were we? Bible. Yes. In the Bible there were seven avatars of what people deemed "Sinful" and in order to amuse himself, the [Creator] made these seven a reality and allocated them a realm each. Back then, it seemed pretty 'normal' for us anyways. But I soon realised something. These avatars were the culmination of the [Creator] himself. If we killed them all, the [Creator] would die along with them. For Millenia we tried to find a way to get to these seven but whenever we got close, they would always disappear. I've always wondered why the [Creator] put the souls into these seven but now, I see it clearly. He wants a successor. So now, i'm asking you, Bell, to go and defeat those seven and give me his power. Of course you'll end up well too! You'll become a god under my ruling and we'll all be dandy. What do you think?"
"Is this guy stupid or what? Does he honestly think I'll fight for his sake? If I obtained that power, i'll be the strongest in the the world. The apex. But if I can get him to cooperate with me, this will all go even smoother." Bell thought to himself.
"Hm...this does seem like a good deal. Yes! Of course, you have helped me all this time! How could I refuse?" Bell answered.
The man smiled.
It was a cold, icy smile and replied,"Good, Good. I will send you to the first of the seven trials now. Do not disappoint now."
Then, light filled Bell's line of sight and everything became white.
When Bell opened his eyes, he was standing directly outside a palace.
The ruler's palace.
"Well, time to kill a ruler then" Bell mumbled before moving forward.
As soon as he stepped into the front lawn, after killing the guards at the gate, a voice resounded throughout the entire palace.
"HUMAN! FOOLISH HUMAN! LEAVE BEFORE YOU DIE BY MY HANDS." A voice resonated throughout the palace, booming like thunder.
"Arrogant words for someone who does not even dare show his face." Bell replied haughtily.
"FOOLISH! ENTER THE PALACE AND ENTER THE TRIAL IF YOU WISH TO SEE ME."
"Oh? Trial? Set by you? Should be easy. I'll meet you in a bit then, your highness." Bell's voice held a tinge of ice.
"IMBECILE! ENTER FIRST BEFORE TALKING BIG GAME! YOU MAY VERY WELL DIE BEFORE EVEN STARTING."
"Unlikely." With those words said, Bell wordlessly moved towards the Palace door and prepared to enter the trial.
