Belle was in the 'back' of her weapon shop, when really, it was a second dimension for her to run tests, train and formulate new ideas.
This was also the place she decided to work on future technology.
The planet she was currently on, Venus' Lament, had very low technology.
Sure, they had the basic necessities like a functioning sewage system and toilets but everything else was non-existent.
No guns, nuclear weapons, biochemical weapons, nothing.
Of course, to create some kind of balance, worlds with lower technology had magic whilst worlds with extremely advanced technology had no way of learning techniques, Unless...They travelled to another world.
However, one would understand the ramifications of doing so, due to extremely weak bodies of said humans, many wouldn't make it out alive and 'summoning' them would be inhumane.
Belle poured herself a cup of tea.
It was a rare moment for her to relax.
Then, out of nowhere, a small dimensional hole appeared in the ground and two figures emerged from it, one scrawny, one beast-like.
"Hm? He's back?" Belle said, walking up to the beast.
Seeing the beast in with all its cuts, Belle raised her eyebrows,"Oh? Someone managed to control you? Gosh...Who did this to you?"
Belle put her hand on the rabbit's head, Belle chanted a few spells,"[Recover]. [Memory Transfer]."
After a moment's time, Belle stumbled back,"Gracie?..."
Her face was in astonishment that Gracie had accomplished such a feat against a level one thousand one hundred Devouring rabbit, nearly double her level.
"She's doing quite well for herself...Soon Belle...You'll see her soon...And that pesky man controlling my beasts...I'll have to deal with him if he gets annoying. Ah yes, Arden, did you get the leaves I asked you to get?" Belle asked, stroking the docile beast's head lovingly.
The beast growled lowly, signalling an affirmative answer.
This was when Belle realised the figure beside the rabbit.
"Eh? You brought back someone?" Belle asked.
The boy, Joel, scrambled back but froze when he felt that all his insides were burning up, his bones were rigid, his muscles all tightened to the extremely.
It was a mind-numbing pain that left him screaming in agony.
Such a beauty could not possibly be human, thus, he was extremely on edge.
"P-please don't hurt m-me...I d-don't want to d-die..." Joel stuttered and stumbled over his words, trembling at the sight of the docile rabbit.
Through intuition and the evidence he had seen, the rabbit was not the real danger.
The girl was.
Belle kneeled down next to the boy,"Why are you scared?"
"P-please...L-let me go..." Joel whispered, losing his strength and morale.
"Looks like the dimensional hole did a number on you...Internal bleeding, torn muscles, fractured ribs...With that weak body it's a miracle you even made it out. Consider yourself lucky."
