"So? What will it be Rhodes Quinn?" Jonas smirked.
He enjoyed interesting things and forcing a king to make a difficult choice was definitely something he couldn't do everyday.
Rhodes felt lost, silent as he contemplated his next course of action, his face turning slightly pale.
Likewise, Bellot was too, she felt like her soul had been sucked out of her by Jonas' nearly unbelievable reveal.
Furthermore, this decision her Father made would either put them in the crosshairs of the war or possibly make an enemy out of her true highness' fated love, needless to say, it was not an easy choice.
"I uh...I...We will need a few days to discuss this before giving you an answer Jonas..."
"Well? Do you trust me? Do you believe that this is all true?" Jonas asked.
"What do you mean?"
"It all seems nigh impossible doesn't it?"
The crowd was stirred once again, unable to get at what Jonas was trying to say.
"What are you trying to imply high priest Jonas?" Rhodes questioned.
"All I'm saying is...Why not confirm it?" Jonas replied curtly.
"C-confirm it?" Rhodes stammered, in his heart, he wished to get to the bottom of this too.
"Exactly. Why don't you ask the girl yourself? She's right in this castle."
Rhodes nodded,"Nn. We shall do that. Everyone, please do note this is top secret. Anyone caught with misusing this information...Will be executed irregardless. Bellot please, call Gracie Valencia to the throne room."
Bellot nodded,"As you wish, father."
Bellot left shortly after, leaving Rhodes with everyone else.
"Alright, we'll have a brief recess. Please return in ten minutes when Gracie Valencia is called." Rhodes spoke, dismissing everyone temporarily.
The crowd dispersed, leaving only two in the room.
Rhodes and Jonas.
Rhodes got off the throne, walking to Jonas who stood quietly, staring straight at him, an intrigued expression in his eye.
"So?" Rhodes asked.
"Hm?"
"What do you think we should do?"
"Me? Well, I'm not too sure myself. I've been given direct orders to not do anything too extreme or out of line. Furthermore, I'll let you in on something. Gracie Valencia has full power over the entire order." Jonas spoke casually, causing Rhodes to stagger back, stunned.
"Wait wait wait. What?" Rhodes asked, baffled by the revelation.
"Direct orders, Rhodes. Do any one thing she asks, irregardless, her true highness spoke loud and clear. Of course, she doesn't know this. However, should she find out, if she wished us dead...We would have to comply." Jonas answered.
Rhodes was left dumbfounded,"T-this...Isn't this too much?"
Jonas laughed,"Too much? Young lad, you're what? Three hundred? You still don't quite know your way around emotions. Love, my boy, is something even gods and goddesses alike can hold up against. When you found your wife, Lady Helena, you pampered her, spoiled her and made her feel so, so important, like you did your daughter. Heck, I even remember the time you ordered twenty guards to follow her around day and night just because some random elf bumped into her accidentally. Now wouldn't you say that was too much? No. Exactly."
