After entering the capital, Gareth led the group to the castle.
"I'm sorry you may not enter here. This place is the- Sir Gareth? Why are you here?" The elf guarding the gates to within the castle was obviously confused.
He turned and saw Bellot and immediately saluted respectfully,"Her Royal Highness!"
Gareth explained the situation plainly, leaving many vague places but enough to get them through,"We were on our way to the place...Then we were attacked!...Then these kind souls saved us! They brought us back! We need to report this to the king."
The elf agreed immediately, and let them through.
Upon entering the castle, they rushed to the throne room.
Pushing the door open, Gareth rushed in,'Your highness!"
"What is the meaning of this?"
"We are in the middle of discussions! Please refrain from such disorderly conduct!"
"Shall he hang?"
The king put his hand out to silence the nobles,"Silence. Gareth. I sent you to protect the princess. Where is she."
Gareth nodded hastily,"The princess is safe, I can assure you! But we were attacked on the way and we had almost lost our lives! The guards that valiantly protected us have all perished!"
The king's and nobles' eyes widened in shock,"What? Who! Who did such an act of blasphemy against our kind!" The king spat out, boiling over his rage.
His daughter was his only child.
He treasured her to the extreme and if someone dared even harm a single hair on her head, he would have them tortured to death with no chance of imprisonment irregardless of position.
"We were saved by a group of people your highness!" Gareth shouted.
The king shouted,"Bring my girl in! Bring our saviour in!"
Gareth nodded,"Yes! Your highness!"
From the back, Bellot rushed in and ran towards the king.
"Father!" Bellot cried out.
"My sweet sweet girl!" The king cried as he hugged Bellot.
He then held her by the shoulders as he checked her,"Are you hurt? Did anyone hurt you! I'll slay them all if they do!"
Bellot shook her head,"No! We were saved by my friends!"
"Your friends?..." The king asked, confused.
Bellot nodded,"Yes!"
Again, from the back, James, Emma, Arceus and Gracie walked out and stood before the king.
The king looked at the four young people before him, unable to understand how they defeated an enemy even Gareth, one of the strongest veterans in the court, could not.
But since his very own daughter said it, he could not refute,"Saviours! I would like to give you my personal thanks for saving my daughter! I cannot thank you enough for doing such an act."
Arceus took the lead,"It is fine. We were doing it out of the kindness. We didn't expect the person saved to be of royal descent. Furthermore, they provoked us anyway. Colliding with them was inevitable."
The king had already come to like Arceus.
His character as a charismatic young man who knew his way with words charmed the king who laughed heartily,"Excellent words well spoken young man! To have met a man with such might to kill a person who even one of our veterans could not compare, while having such a wonderful personality, wonderful! Wonderful! Gareth, tell me, how strong was the attacker?"
"There were actually five attackers your highness sir! They were all around level five hundred. But when coordinated, could kill a level two thousand if they had the jump!"
The crowd gasped, a level two thousand was no common person.
Usually, they were the elite of the elite, royalty or one step below it.
Otherwise, hitting level five hundred on its own was already impossible.
This showed the clear line between royalty and common folk.
"My! And how did this young man valiantly defend and ultimately dispatch of the troops!" The king's eyes burned with a fervour not rarely seen.
He had long thirsted for his match, a person who was not as strong as the high priests in the [Round Table of the Order of Trinity] but not as weak as nobility.
Arceus shook his head,"It was not me who defeated the attackers your highness, it was her!" Arceus pointed to Gracie who was staring indifferently to everything.
The king was once again shocked by the revelation, never imagining such a tiny looking girl could produce that much damage.
Gareth nodded to confirm,"Indeed it was your highness. I am afraid she is truly an elite to be reckoned with. Her true might was still not shone even in such a scenario. Even I, a veteran who has seen war many a time, shivered with fear at the sight of her dispatching those enemies! Truly, a powerful lass!"
The king rubbed his chin thoughtfully as he stared at Gracie,"Lass, would you like to have a match with me?"
Gracie was bewildered, why would the king suddenly request a match with her?
However, she was in no mood to bully an innocent king who barely broke level seven thousand, three thousand below her.
It would be an utter loss of his face.
"I'm in no mood to make a king lose face." Gracie answered simply.
In hindsight, it may have come off as arrogant but this was simply Gracie's attempt at trying to stop the king from losing face.
"Arrogant brat! She should be punished for talking to the king like that!"
"Prideful! Not worthy!"
The king laughed, causing the court to fall silent.
"Excellent! Excellent! It has been hundreds of years since I have been talked to that way! You bring me back to the days of the past young lass! Back when I still was wet behind the ears, training day in, day out to perfect myself! It only makes me want to spar even more with you!" The king exclaimed joyfully.
Gracie shrugged,"Contact?"
The king laughed,"Tell you what lass! If you let me fight you, I'll gift you anything so long as it's understandable!"
Gracie smiled coyly, since the king gave her a reason to fight, how could she refuse?"
"Very well. Let us go then..."
"Marvellous! Everyone! You are invited to witness the spar with myself and-"
"Gracie Valencia."
"With Gracie Valencia!" The king shouted.
The crowd burst into whispers, after all, it wasn't everyday the king sparred.
Arceus, Emma and James were worried,"Gracie! Are you insane? That's the king! He's extremely powerful! You're only level six hundred plus only! Why did you agree?" Emma asked worriedly.
Gracie gave a slight smile,"Just watch."
They followed Gracie to the courtyard uneasily with the king leading the front.
A few dissatisfied looks were pointed at Gracie but she ignored them quite easily, not caring a single bit about it.
After clearing a circle, Gracie and the king looked to each other, each standing tall and proud.
Arrogantly looking at each other while their auras expanded slowly, matching the other.
The king laughed,"It has been a while since I've been forced to use this much force..."
