Six Years.
Six full years had passed in a blink of an eye.
In these six fulfilling years, Gracie had garnered more attention than she could ever imagine.
Queen of the Tournament, Grand Six Time Champion, Beauty of Valencia and many more titles bestowed upon her.
Yet, Gracie was not happy.
Far from it.
It all happened just a few months prior...
-----
"Teacher! I won the sixth tournament! I did it! I-..." Gracie opened the door to Belle's room only to find the room completely blank.
The entire place looked like how it had been six years ago when she had just moved in to this apartment.
"Teacher? Teacher!" Gracie walked in and looked around.
There was practically no evidence left behind that Belle had actually even stayed here only the lingering scent of vanilla.
Gracie walked back to her room only to see a note on her dresser.
She picked it up.
It read 'Dear Gracie. By the time you read this, I will already have been gone. You may have many questions, why did you go? Why now? Why didn't you tell me? And I promise, all in due time. This is my promise to you, I will return. I will answer everything. I will fulfil any thing you wish of me. All I ask of you is that you grow stronger. And...Never forget yourself...'
Gracie was stunned for a moment.
"T-teacher..." She muttered.
Dropping the paper on the floor, Gracie slammed the door in confusion and rushed to Arceus' room.
Knocking frantically, Gracie shouted,"Arceus! Help!"
Arceus opened the door, alert, eyes wide,"Danger! Where?"
"Teacher's left! Where did she go?" Gracie asked.
Arceus wanted to answer but then an immense pain hit his mind, as if blocking something.
Crumpling to the floor, Arceus screamed.
He felt as if his head had been cleanly split in two whenever he tried to think of this 'teacher' of Gracie's.
"Arceus? What's wrong?" Gracie shouted, pulling Arceus onto a chair before shutting the door.
"I don't know! Every time I try to think of Miss Tri-...What was I talking about again? Yes your tea-...Huh? What was I talking about?" Arceus looked to Gracie, a blank look in his eyes, a sheen of confusion covering them.
"Arcie? What's going on? What happened to you? What happened to teacher?" Gracie whispered as she grabbed Arceus' hand, looking at him worriedly.
Arceus mumbled incoherently,"Gracie?" He laughed hysterically,"Gracie!"
"What's gotten into you?" Gracie whispered, backing away.
"Gracie! Miss-Eh?" Arceus had a blank look again, the spark of insanity in his eyes gone.
"What happened to Belle?" Gracie shouted.
"B-Eh? Who's Belle?" Arceus looked at Gracie, confused.
"Miss Trinity! My teacher! You know!" Gracie breathed harshly.
"Miss Trinity? Who's that? Your teacher?" Arceus looked surprised,"You have a teacher Gracie? Who's your teacher?"
Gracie let out her frustration and slapped Arceus squarely in the cheek,"Arceus! Now is not the time to pull pranks! Teacher! My teacher!" Gracie pulled at Arceus' lapels aggressively shaking him,"White hair! Purple and red eyes! Black hairband! White dress! Leather boots! Insanely strong!"
Arceus tried to piece together the information he had been given to no avail.
He felt the immense pain yet again and coughed up copious amounts of blood,"Argh! Blegh!"
He vomited blood repeatedly, his face twisted in agony as it turned even paler.
"Arceus! Don't f*ck with me!" Gracie shouted, holding Arceus by the shoulder.
Arceus' stared deeply into Gracie's eyes before his own rolled behind his head, showing the whites in his eyes.
His body went limp.
Gracie shook Arceus worriedly,"Arceus? Arceus! Wake up!" Tears started streaming down,"Wake up!" Gracie screamed, shaking him, her actions borne from desperation.
A man appeared beside her.
It was the head overseer.
"That's enough!" He held back Gracie and sighed,"Your teacher left today morning while you were at the tournament. She left powerful memory sealing spells on everyone besides you and me before leaving. As to why she left, she is the guardian protector of this world. Student. You should understand the responsibility she bears. She has promised to return. The chances of her dying are virtually zero. You will have to exercise your feelings and considerations for her. I can clearly see your feelings you choose to suppress. Her highness may be a goddess but she is somewhat dense in this territory known as love."
Gracie stumbled back as if a sword had struck her directly.
The headmaster didn't look back as he stared at Arceus' unmoving body,"You have fallen for her. A taboo that by all rights, if you wanted to legally marry, you couldn't. You would be forced to spend days hiding away in squatter settlements. But if you truly love her? I can only give you a few pieces of advice. First! Never bow to anyone. Power is influence. If you never bow, you will never view yourself as lower than someone else, allowing you to further your will and desire staved away deep within your heart. Secondly! Trust in her highness. She will return. Not for this measly planet named after a small system in the vast universe, but for you. Her feelings towards you have been suppressed the same way as you have. Even I, a lowly person that does not even deserve being in her presence can see."
Gracie stood, staring at the back of the headmaster, finally realising why Belle did what she did.
Why her teacher had left, she did not know.
What she did know was that...Belle would return!
When she did, she wouldn't hide away her emotions anymore!
If she did, she would regret it and lose her chance like she did this day!
The headmaster smiled,"Looks like you understand. To see her highness once more, you must trust in her! To marry her, you must trust in yourself! Only then can you find what you desire! That is all! As for this boy...he will recover fully in a few hours. I am sure of it. As for now, don't bring up the subject of her highness to anyone but me and that Chester Elliot fellow. If you do, an intense mental strain will be placed on them and in some cases, they will die." The headmaster disappeared into thin air.
This made Gracie reminisce about Belle once more and wet droplets stained her pants as she clenched her fists tightly.
Long blonde bangs covered her tear-stained cheeks as she looked down.
"Teacher...no...Belle...I promise...no matter how long you take...no matter how long you wish to stay away...I will live till then! I will live for as long as you have not returned! This is my promise to you..." She whispered to herself in the midst of her sobbing.
The quiet grief continued until Gracie fell unconscious from her mental and physical exhaustion.
She had just returned from her six annual tournament win and had found out Belle had left.
This strain on both body and mind put her to sleep.
Perhaps, this was for the best.
Gracie laid her head down next to Arceus' right arm and fell into unconsciousness, the darkness consuming her.
Her last words before falling asleep were,"I...Love..."
