Lecture Hall.

"Magic training. Tell me, what's the point of it?" The professor asked.

"Um, it is to prepare students for new job qualifications sir."

"Correct. In this world, it is split into two. Those who can use magic, and those who cannot. Those who can use magic are seen as higher than those who can't. Even in Feliwyn, there is that discrimination. And nearly all jobs require magic nowadays. But with magic on the rise, I ask. What about war?"

"It has happened time and time again. In our history, war has happened for a multitude of reasons. And now, a new reason has spurted."

A familiar face flashed on screen.

"Take her for example. I'm sure you've seen the viral video? She singlehandedly took down an entire army and dismantled royalty as if it were child's play. Even in this day and age, nuclear weapons are considered terrifying. But she, this girl can do just as much damage without so much as a repercussion."

"As we speak, hundreds of government officials worldwide are gathering to discuss ethics. Her, at the centre point. And honestly, it isn't a far cry to say that controlling her means controlling the world."

"But professor, Bell wouldn't be controlled that easily right?" Sam pointed out.

"This is what the countries fear. I believe it would be deemed as 'Going Rogue'."

"No matter how brilliant a mind she has, nor the power she holds, you have to stand back at take a look at the hardened facts. She's a teenager, barely seventeen. Yet, we know next to nothing about her. Who are her parents? Why does she have this power? No one's asking the mundane questions because they're all too focused on the bigger picture, not the smaller details..."

"I wish I knew..." Belle whispered to herself.

"Now in Feliwyn, we have an armed force of seven thousand elite magicians, at around level four hundred thousand troops..."

The lecture dragged on.

Belle daydreamed.

A year flashed before her eyes.

The anniversary of her friends' death.

The friends she had killed.

She had mourned for them, Katherine and Zack constantly doing things to comfort her.

In her own eyes, Belle was no hero.

She was a villain capable of killing and remaining unaffected.

She enjoyed killing, even getting a kick out of it.

Yet, she lived a normal life, one where she had friends.

"Earth to Vi!" Tina hollered, waving a hand in front of Belle.

"Huh? Oh!" Belle sat up.

"Daydreaming again?"

"Sorry...what were you saying?" Belle said sheepishly.

"The festival Vi. Y'know. This year's is like totes important!"

"You're being hyperbolic."

"Shut up Sam. Stop using big words I can't understand!" Tina yelled.

"Anyway-This year we've been forced to participate!" Jared announced, acting joyful.

"The sarcasm is off the charts." Sam said.

"Festival?" Belle asked.

"Wait...You don't know abou-Oh yeah, you've only been here a year. The school has a biennial festival that people participate in for ACG points which basically we need desperately if we want to get a good job. It's a festival which acts as a demonstration for new stuff students create basically." Sam explained,"Anyway, you wanna join us? It's happening two months from now."

Belle shook her head,"I...Don't think i'll be free then...Sorry guys..."

She had a possible mission then and didn't want to bail at the last minute.

Tina sighed,"Too bad I guess...Well I'll be stuck with these two lovable idiots."

"Oi! We are not idiots!" Jared retorted.

"Jared, maybe. But me, no."

"Yeah! Wait-what?"

The day went by as quickly as the two months.

—————

"Well, that's everything. I'll call you back in a week." Svenson hung up.

Belle had just finished up with a job regarding eliminating an brain trafficking ring that used it to nullify lower tier magic.

"Well...I'm tired, I'll let my other half take over I guess." Belle yawned.

Moments later, her personalities switched,"It't my turn again..."

Belle turned on her phone.

"Today's...School festival? I'm free today...Might as well take a look right?" Belle shrugged, changing into  a crop top and denim mini shorts.

"Chilly today...Need to cover my hair..." Belle randomly took a jacket and pulled the hoodie over her head.

Grabbing her wallet and phone, she went out.

Walking through the academy halls, whispers and gossip spread.

"Hey...Is that?"

"That style...It has to be..."

"Do you think?..."

Belle ignored them, walking away.

Stepping out of the academy, Belle walked on the street, enjoying the gentle breeze

It had rained yesterday, so the ground was still a little damp, the sky slightly grey and cloudy.

Shops lined the streets, each one selling different products Belle had never cared for.

Well, besides that one shop that sold stuffed toys.

People walked past her without batting an eye, probably because it was weekend rush hour.

Belle headed into the train station, patiently waiting for her train.

—————

'Agriel University proudly presents the Festival of Wonders! With new innovative ideas...' Posters were plastered all over.

Belle looked over to the long queue to get into the University, it was absolutely positively crowded.

Belle tapped her university entrance card at the side and got in easily, skipping the queue.

Once inside, Belle found people crowding around stall after stall, each once advertising things from machines which could create perfect homemade meals to designs and prototypes for new amplifiers.

There were even a few companies setting up shop with new inventions for sale.

Of course, the other stalls which sold plenty of confectionaries evened out everything.

The crowd contained people from all walks of life.

From scientists that wanted to take on apprentices, people sent by companies to buy promising ideas and designs to parents bringing their children along for the food and to take a look at the latest tech.

Belle walked about, sinking both her hands into the pockets of her jacket.

That was when she noticed Tina's stall.

They were showing off a prototype for a possible new sensor that could be used for spell training, reducing risk of physical harm.

Belle decided it would mean no harm to take a casual look.

So, she walked over.
