Emma's Room.
It was a day before the fated match between the two supposed 'rivals'.
Whilst Gracie was busy with her training, Emma had been cooped up in her room, restlessly thinking about the horrible mistake she had made in a moment.
On her king sized bed was a book.
It was officially named 'Evergreen City's Decade Stars', a book that was released every decade by the head royal scholar under king Chester regarding information about the most outstanding individuals within the decade.
And the page it was flipped to was one which was titled 'Gracie Valencia'.
The page was quite lacking but the information that was available would have already shocked a person tremendously.
'Gracie Valencia, possibly a pseudonym. Origin of birth unknown. Currently resides in Emperyus Academy. Six time winner of the Grand Schools' Competition. Level is estimated to be around six hundred and fifty or higher. Wields a strange sword-type divine armament that high grade divine armaments cannot hold out against. Weapon origin unknown. Owns a pet tiger-lion hybrid. Pet origin, unknown. Little is known about this Gracie Valencia character besides the fact that she is a ruthless character that only shows rare acts of mercy towards her opponents. Has close relations to, but is not limited to, Arceus Elliot, Dawn Farlier, Julian Beryl and Leo Mayfair. Generally shows a cold , possibly confident demeanour towards outsiders. Is neutral towards matters regarding political power, general consensus from nobility is that this person is should not be engaged. Since she maintains a neutral stance, she is categorised as a pragmatic person. Rewards are definitely required to hire into the ranks. If possible, one should not make an enemy out of her unless one has ample power to deal with her.'
Emma bit her lip tightly as she nervously paced the room,"Oh you stupid fool! What have you done? You've just gone and awoken a dragon from its peaceful slumber! Should I just back out from the challenge...No...I can't. If I back out...how do I face Arceus again? No, I can't back out. I'm not a coward. But...how do I deal with this monstrous freak of a genius?"
Emma pulled at her hair as she was at wit's end.
She had spent four full days pressing on the matter, trying to come up with a viable solution as to how to deal with the current situation.
At first, she had been extremely confident in being able to defeat Gracie.
However, after realising how foolish she had been to even talk before a freak like her, Emma was at a loss as to how to proceed against her.
She was stuck in a perpetual deadlock against her judgement of whether to go or to bail out, losing both face and Arceus' ever diminishing respect for her or to head out bravely and possibly suffer grievous injuries.
In the end, Emma sighed.
She was an hour away from the appointed battle and she had barely gotten any rest, quite evident from her disheveled behaviour and bloodshot eyes.
"I'll go out with a bang I guess. Time to head to the courtyard..." Emma muttered, visibly depressed.
------
At the training yard.
Quite a few spectators had turned up for the show that was about to come.
A fight between a princess and a six time winner of a prestigious competition, the outcome was impossible to determine though, in all honesty had they known the true extent of both parties' powers, the result would be instantly clear.
