After the spar, Gracie left immediately, telling the king she would ponder for a bit first.

In actuality, she wasn't feeling quite well.

It seemed that unleashing such might with inexperience caused quite a bit of discomfort and may develop into heavier consequences if used recklessly in the long run.

Bellot showed her the way to the guest rooms and promptly left afterwards.

Opening her door, she saw a figure there, her drowsy eyes that were half-shut opened in vigilance.

Who could it be?

A would be assassin?

"Oh do come in, I mean no harm, I only wish for a small chat. Please, close the door behind you." The voice of an elderly man rang in the quiet room, steady and calm, much like that of a veteran that has seen many a hardship.

Trusting her instinct, Gracie decided to listen first, not wanting to be the one to make a move against an innocent old man.

Turning to face him, she saw exactly what she pictured, an elderly man, white hair, crinkled smile and warm eyes like that of a doting parent.

"Who are you?" She asked.

"Who I am is irrelevant. Why I am here, is the question." The man spoke vaguely, revealing only a little of his objective.

"Why are you here then? Are you a hired assassin?"

The man chuckled,"Miss, I am but an old man, these old bones of mine can't fight against the energetic younger generation. I am merely here to see what her true highness deems as...Oh I've said too much...No matter. I am here to represent a few people. Simply put. We are representatives of her true highness."

"Her true highness?...Tch. Don't go spouting blind preaching in my face."

"Oh no, this is not blind preaching young lass. Well since you do not believe me, I shall reveal my identity. My name is Jonas Hieldbern, the Head Vicar of Trinity. I carry out my goddess' will with faith and devotion. She has spoken of you. Of how you are important to her. Of how she appointed the Guardian Protector for your sake and yours alone. To have a goddess think of you in such high regard, I have nothing but awe and praise."

The words rang like thunder in Gracie's ears, everything she had learnt of up till now were fragments in the big picture, nothing concrete, only speculation.

But now, a Bishop, the head at that, just confirmed that...Belle was the one who orchestrated everything?

Gracie's closed-off demeanour fell apart, she was breathing heavily, her heart pounded quicker than a hummingbird flapping its wings, her legs turned soft, as if her bones were nonexistent.

"B-belle?..." Gracie uttered those words with great uncertainty, her whole body was shaken.

Whether it was hopefulness to see her again and the excitement that Belle had gone to such great lengths to provide for her, or the oncoming fear of something horrid happening, Gracie herself couldn't even tell.

Jonas nodded, walking around the rigid Gracie,"Indeed. I have not seen her true highness, such an unfathomable being, mighty as one can be, wiser than any existence...Could be so...Infatuated...It was a big shock to us. Her true highness...Acting...Elf-like? After seeing the look in her true highness' eyes, I finally confirmed it."
