Trial of Sin.

Gracie was summoned into yet another room.

This time, all there was within the room was a stone.

It was a rock, a big one to say the least, weighing more than it turned out to be.

Even Gracie failed to lift it.

Upon further examination, the stone was imprinted with the words 'Sit on the stone for an hour and you shall be judged for the second to last trial.'

Following the instructions, Gracie sat on the stone quietly.

An hour had passed in the blink of an eye and the stone glowed.

Gracie, unsure of what to do, sat on the stone, not daring to move.

Again, she had been teleported.

-----

Opening her eyes, Gracie found herself in a courtyard filled with magnificent trees with leaves pink as the sky during dawn.

Before her was a line of priests bowing respectfully.

At the end of the line was a woman.

Stepping forward, Gracie went up to the woman who asked,"You are now facing the fifth trial young lady. In a sense, the reward you wish for will be determined right here and now."

Gracie felt herself feeling lighter and lighter.

The trials were finally over and it seemed this place was where the reward was determined.

"How do I wish for my reward?" Gracie asked.

"Simply wish for it to happen and I will determine what you deserve. It is as simple as it sounds miss." The woman said.

Gracie's mind immediately went to the words she wanted to blurt out.

'I wish for a meeting with the Ancestor of Lykerian. The matter is of utmost urgency and requires the Ancestor's power."

The woman who had been smiling gently looked intently at the girl before her as she asked,"Could this perhaps be due to the recent attacks? Have you knowledge of what is happening?"

"Yes miss. I have been given instruction that the Ancestor would help." Gracie humbly replied.

The woman stared at Gracie, brow furrowed in deep thought before nodding.

"Come. I shall bring you to see the Ancestor. Since you know of his excellency's existence and have a pure heart, you must be speaking of matters most grave." The woman said as she started walking.

Gracie soundlessly followed behind as they walked.

After a while, they had arrived at what seemed like a normal hut made of wood, bamboo and straw.

"His excellency has approved of your meeting. I cannot lead you in but he is inside." The woman bowed,"I shall take my leave miss."

Gracie nodded silently.

Taking a small breath, she opened the door and entered the room.

A man with long hair greeted her.

He was seated behind a table.

The smell of incense was very strong, making Gracie cough lightly.

The man smiled and gestured for her to sit.

Gracie bowed and took a seat, quietly waiting for the man.

"So, young lass, you have a grave matter to talk about?" The man answered, his voice surprisingly light, fresh and curt.
