Emma's Resolve

While the revelation at the throne room was ongoing, Emma was out with Gracie and her new servant, Anna and James.

It was what she called a 'Relaxing Day Out', just five of them, though she wanted to invite Arceus, he mentioned being busy with something.

"Ugh! Why doesn't he like me Grace?" Emma groaned in frustration, pulling at her hair as they sat inside a quaint coffee shop tucked neatly away in the heart of the capital.

Gracie shrugged, stirring her coffee,"I've tried Emma. I've tried to help you on so many occasions to get you together but  it just seems like he really doesn't fancy you."

"What about you then?" Emma turned to James.

James felt extremely out of place and replied in shock,"What me?"

"Yes you! You're a boy right? Tell me! What do boys like!" Emma looked to James expectantly,"Well?"

Anna kept her silence, having just known Emma and James this morning, she was not welcoming towards them.

James scratched his head,"Well...It depends on the person really, some guys prefer certain traits in a woman. There are some who like a pretty woman, some prefer personality over looks, some even only fall for each other due to their sexual fantasies aligning..." He answered thoughtfully.

"What does Arceus like then?..." Emma pondered.

"Well he seems like the closed off kinda guy...Maybe he's waiting for the right one?" Gracie suggested.

"The right one? Does that mean I've no chance? Does he truly have a soulmate out there I can never compete with?" Emma said depressingly.

James tried to comfort her,"No! It's not like that! Don't confuse her high- I mean...Emma like that!" He recovered from his slip-up, mouthed a sorry after Emma gave him a glare.

"I-it's just that Arceus thinks he might be waiting for someone who'll blow him away but one day when he realises such a phenomenon will never happen, he'll start...You know..."

"Or maybe..." Gracie started.

"Maybe? Maybe what? Don't leave me hanging here woman!" Emma shouted at Gracie angrily, causing her to laugh.

"It's just a thought but what if Arcie-poo is actually into guys?" Gracie answered with a thoughtful look on her face.

Emma recoiled in shock, mouth agape,"T-that's! Impossible!"

"Why not?" Gracie pushed forward.

"B-because!" Emma stuttered, realising she had no rebuttal for Gracie's absurd statement,"Still! I believe he isn't like that! Jeez G, not everyone's like that you know?" Emma muttered.

James gave another plausible suggestion,"What if he was one of those manwhores?"

"W-what?" Emma asked.

"You've heard of many stories of young nobles and princes, even kings who have multiple concubines aside from their main mistress no? There are even some nobles in our kingdom that sleep with multiple women openly and are in many relationships and have several wives. Is it not hard to think Arceus is one who perhaps prefers a one night stand rather than a long running relationship that he has no wish for commitment in?"

Emma's expression turned into a weird one,"I-if he wants my body even for one night only, all he needs to do is ask!"

James' expression turned red,"Y-you're not a normal girl Emma! If you were caught having a tryst with Arceus, provided my theory is true, do you not understand the ramifications behind your selfish actions? Refrain from being so brazen!"
