Krynoth borders.
Two weeks had passed and they had arrived at Krynoth City.
The only noise that was made was the clanking of the armour made by the soldiers.
The voluntary army had picked up several hundred thousand people.
Some hoping to find out more, some looking to make some coin.
"We're arriving Vice Legate Sir!" One of the soldiers told Jamie.
He nodded and waved him off.
Stopping at the border surrounded by soldiers, Nathan turned towards the legions and bellowed as loud as he could.
"Soldiers! Today, we fight! You may have been wondering why we have come here to this city and why the king has evacuated the citizens! Well I will tell you now! Cowards who wish to leave can leave now but those of honour and wish to serve under the royal army- even those of the voluntary army can stay! Those who leave will not learn of our predicament and will be moved away immediately! Is there anyone? I will only say this once! Staying here means imminent death!"
Surprisingly, only few hundred soldiers left leaving over six million still loyal to the crown.
"Very well brave soldiers! I will inform you of what we will face when we enter the city. We will be facing the same monster that destroyed Anemone. So far, all we can say for certain here is that many of you here will die. The exact number, I do not know. Prepare yourselves for this battle. We enter tomorrow first thing in the morning. That is all. Dismissed."
That night, many people were caught trying to leave but every single one of them were captured, to be cannon fodder.
In a flash, dawn arrived and they were about to enter the battlefield.
Briefings were held and everything from Nathan and Gracie's coordinated dragon attacks to Quentin's strikes were covered just before they went in.
Then.
It was time to go.
With a low groan, the doors to he northern entrance of Krynoth city opened and the army poured in.
Behind the door, was a completely plain floor.
The buildings were completely non-existent.
"What in the bloody h*ll happened here." Quentin whispered, looking around.
Then, as the last of the army entered, the door swung shut.
No matter how hard they pushed or pulled, the doors wouldn't budge.
So there they were, over six million people trapped in an arena like place as if awaiting judgement.
Then, a bell rang.
A low monotonous bell.
"Prepare for battle!" Nathan and Quentin simultaneously roared, turning into their beast forms with Gracie following behind.
The soldiers could only stare in fear and anticipation at the oncoming danger.
They knew that even these three monsters were defeated in battle against the being who destroyed Anemone City.
