MissAvarice you had asked how she fights. This is how she fights.

However she is classified as a weak monster. Keep that in mind. Maybe Oriel will give Cisco details about it later.

Oriel made her way swiftly through the trees. They'd only left the monster realm a decade ago and already humans felt they had a right to drive her race into extinction. Oriel couldn't exactly blame them, but she wouldn't allow them to freely win either.

"Hide here." She told the family of monsters she had been guiding away. "don't come out. Cloak yourselves if you are a magic user."

The woman nodded, cradling her infant to her chest. Her husband was a magic user and was able to cloak them and appear to fade right into the trees.

Oriel moved away from them, purposely taking the attention of the men chasing her. Four men on horse back slowly gained on her. Monster Hunters could make a good living collecting the heads of their prey.

An arrow whizzed by Oriels side as the one with the bow got close enough to attempt a hit. Two of the riders circled ahead and cut Oriel off so she could no longer run. The four soon forming a circle to prevent her escape. Another arrow was shot from horseback. Oriel raised her spires, pressed side against side in a sort of shield. The arrow got stuck in one of her spires.

It hurt, yes, but her spires did not bleed and healed fast. Oriel grasped it with another spire and tore it out. She dropped her feet to the earth and tried to keep an eye on all the men at once.

It was clear the single bow wouldn't be able to take Oriel down. A rope was thrown from behind her, tightening around her torso. Not that it could stop her spires. They had no joints, no limitations.

Spires snaked around the rope before she pulled the man off his horse with a hard tug.  A pulse of magic to raise and move herself before the arrow that she had pulled from her arm was lodged in the man's throat.

Oriel raised herself off the ground and faced the final three, no longer needing to circle her. One party here would live and the other would die.

Oriel wasn't ready to die.

The man with the bow was her next target. The one with the arrow in his throat was gasping and laying in a small puddle of his own blood. He would not survive.  The rope around Oriel loosened and fell with no one keeping the other end tight.

The two dismounted their horses while the third with the bow stayed on his. The two came at Oriel. The first man reached her and attempted to strike. She tied her spires together and sent them with full force into his side, knocking the man back. Like most humans, they had assumed her spires were not solid. How idiotic.

Her attention was turned to the second and she raised her spires to block his strike. She winced as his weapon cut into her spires but could not break through.

Tendrils from her other side wrapped around his middle and he was thrown at the man on the horse. Oriel didn't hit her target but it started the horse who reared and threw off it's rider.

All on the ground, these humans were no match. Oriel wasn't even bleeding. They hadn't managed to strike her body, only her spires.

Even all three coming simultaneously was no match for Oriel. Her spires sharpened to points, much sharper than any blade they may hold. The first one in her range was impaled by a dozen spires, driven entirely through his body with a single movement.

The second man fell to the ground. Oriel didn't spare him a glance. She was sure even with her mindless strike she must have punctured something vital.

Humans were known for the flight or fight instinct. These two must realize it was a losing battle yet neither ran. How amusing.

Sharpened spires were pressed together in a thick line and brought around to alice cleanly through the neck of another man. This did leave Oriels side exposed for a moment though and the man who'd had the bow stabbed Oriel in the side with the small knife he'd carried.

Oriel looked at the man with a glare and spires wrapped around his body before he could pull his knife back and retreat. They tightened around him, cutting off his air and crushing his chest. Dozens of spires twisted around him in opposite directions, pulling. Tightening. Until she heard the wonderful crunching of ribs being shattered. Just to be sure the man was dead, Oriel snapped his neck.

"They're dead!" Oriel shouted, sure the monsters were still close enough to hear.

She hoped they were. She lowered to her feet then her knees and wrapped her spires around her side. That didn't feel great. There was a lot of blood.

Footsteps approached her and Oriel looked up to see the three monsters again. The husband stepped forward and healed her side.

"Thank you." Oriel said, removing her spires. Blood soaked and torn clothing was still there but she was fine now.

"No. Thank you. You saved us." The wife answered. "We can never repay you."

"Don't worry about it. It's my pleasure." Oriel said. "if you go north, there is a small village of monsters forming. Or south I hear some villages are accepting non hostile monsters to live with them. That may not be true though. Be careful."

"We will be." The woman thanked Oriel again before she and her husband started walking north to find themselves a new safe haven.
