"Kit, wait!" Amidas chased after his younger brother. They were right on the edge of heaven. Naturally Kit wanted to flee to his only safe space.

"Stop following me!" Kit turned to face Amidas. The eyes of angels positioned close by were on them now. They were outside the gates but not by far enough they couldn't be heard.

"Let me heal you at least." Amidas reached for his brother.

"I don't want your help!" Kit backed away a few more steps. "You promised me it wouldn't happen again!"

Kit wasnt terribly injured, at least as far as anyone nearby could see. A few cuts here and there but they'd already stopped bleeding.

Not many things could hurt a demigod though.

"I know I did." Amidas sighed. "I got busy, okay. I didn't know they'd go to such extreme length to get at you again. I thought you'd be safe in our garden."

"Amidas? Kit?" Puriel had been stationed nearby. Upon seeing the arguing demigods, one of the other gatekeepers had switched with her temporarily so she could take care of the issue. After all, if this became a true fight it could get messy.

"Hi, Puriel." Amidas turned to give her a smile though it was a forced one. "Sorry, are we causing a problem?"

"No, I just wanted to make sure everything was alright." Puriel shook her head. "You know you're welcome here. Both of you."

Kit turned away when Puriel looked at him. She decided not to push anything by asking questions.

"I'm going to see Uriel." Kit said, turning to walk away from them. "is he in his office?"

Puriel assumed the question was directed to her. "Most likely."

"Thanks."

Puriel and Amidas watched him walk off in silence for a moment before Puriel turned to Amidas with a questioning gaze.

"Our siblings went after him again. They got him pretty bad this time..." Amidas explained, taking Puriels hand to walk her back to her station.

"I thought you took care of that issue?"

"I thought I had too. I wish he'd stand up for himself. He always just runs away or sits there and takes it. Like he's scared to fight back." Amidas sighed once more. He could only do so much for his little brother. "hopefully Uriel can help him."

. . . . .

"Kit?" Uriel asked when he heard the door to his office open. No one else would enter without knocking, except perhaps the other archangels or if there was an emergency.

"Are you busy?" Kit asked. His voice was strained and full of emotion.

"Not terribly." Uriel set down his own and looked up to his partner. His smile at seeing Kit immediately fell when he noticed the gash over the left side of his face. "What happened?"

Kit walked over to Uriel, wrapping his arms around the angel for a hug. Uriel pushed back from his desk so Kit could sit in his lap and hugged him. "Kit?"

"I'm okay." Kit hid his face against Uriels neck. "it'll heal in a couple days."

Uriel looked down at Kits back and noticed more of those deep cuts. The patterns were clearly some sort of claw mark. Uriels pulled Kit a little closer.

He knew about Kits 'punishment' when he first got to the fields. Even now that he was free he had a few siblings that occasionally came after him. Kit insisted he didn't know why they hated him so much.

"Let me take you to a healer."

"No." Kit squeezed Uriel, pressing himself ever closer. "I'm fine."

"You're shaking."
