Misty
~~~~~~~~~~~~Starting with Sadiq because you won't let me give him a harem!
Medieval Sadiq
Kassim and Cherrys plans to encourage potato farming along the mountains was finally getting started. Everything was planned, it was begining to be prepared, now they needed farmers who would agree to a contract to be sure they produced enough. This would, of course, also give them some help in starting the fields so they weren't going it completely by themselves.
Cherry had only yet hired one other person to help her with work, and they mostly handled the menial tasks processing basic paperwork and gathering reports for her, so she and Kassim had to take care of the discussions themselves. But that was fine, they were used to spending all day together.
"Sadiq." Maelle called him over. Another interested citizen had probably arrived. "Can you take miss Misty to the meeting room to wait while the Queen prepares?"
Word had been spread and many applicants had arrived today. That was the expectation, how many would be willing to stay after hearing the contract would be another. It was nice to see one of Kassim and Cherrys first major projects being implemented.
"Yes." Sadiq nodded, coming over to Maelle call. The woman standing beside her was not what he had expected. The woman was around Sadiqs age, maybe a few years younger. However she was a centaur, which surprised him at first glance.
Centaurs were one of the few species, aside from kitsune and werewolves, that generally lived in a traditional fashion. Herds of two or three dozen could be found in the forests of Rouxe or even along the coasts of Alleyn. It wasn't his first time seeing a centaur but it had been a while. They didn't too often associate with those outside the herd unless they decided to join in trading.
Aside form that, the few centaur that joined society made excellent farmers or laborers. They were steady on their feet, fast, and strong. He had the faintest memory of working with one when he was still a farm boy. Those were peaceful days.
A centaur running a potato farm would be a good idea. She could pull large plows on her own and haul sacks that would even stop him from getting far. She could move fast enough to bring them to cities. It was good that a centaur showed up, really.
The centaur tapped her hooves in the doorway to make sure no dirt was stuck since she knew her shoes could leave fun marks on a clean floor when taken inside. She actually had to duck to get through the doorway. Even the castle wasn't really made for a centaur. The wide hallways and high roof would work well enough for her to walk through.
"Are you from allelyn by any chance?" Misty asked Sadiq rather suddenly, having seemed in though for the last little while.
Sadiq was taken off guard by the question but then nodded. "Yes."
