1) Welcome To The Academy
Xeyani waved to her mother one last goodbye as she walked to the knights academy. She was one of only four women to get accepted into the program this year. She wished it had all been on her own accord but her father had a very influential name in the academy. By sharing his name she was likely accepted on a bias.

No matter! Xeyani was as good with a blade as any of the other boys walking into this academy. She was determined that she would be at the top of her class and be certified as a fully trained knight by the time the year ended.

Before she could go to her classes, she had to drop off her bags and get settled into her dorm. Despite her excitement, she had to wait a whole 24 hours before her first classes started. Her mother had warned her countless times to be respectful to the masters training her. Nearly all of them were seasoned veterans too old or injured to fight any longer. Others had simply retired after seeing their fare share of violence and went on to train the next generation.

The women dorm was quite small with two total bedrooms. There was space for four in a room but they only had two in each since there were so few women attending. She was the last to show up apparently by the fact that when she arrived three other girls were hanging out in the room she was assigned to.

She recognized Violet and Azalea Jameson as the 16 and 18 year old sisters from her town. The third girl, her roommate, was a stranger. Upon her entering the sisters decided to leave to give a little more space for them to unpack.

"Hey! I'm Xeyani." She introduced herself with a sweet smile, offering her hand to her roommate.

"I'm Emeline." Emeline replied, shaking her hand. She had a very serious expression and a build strangely muscular for a woman. She had short hair, exaggerating her masculine type features.

"Nice to meet you Emeline. I haven't seen you around here before. Where are you from?" Xeyani asked.

"I'm from the southern border. A small town you probably haven't heard of." Emelime answered very seriously. She then turned to continue unpacking.

"Oh, did they not have any closer academies? That must be a pretty long journey." Xeyani pushed for more information about her roommate.

"This is the best academy in the entire country. If you have any sense of duty and pride you would have bothered to figure that out. I have unpacking to do." Emeline replied sharply without bothering to look at her.

Xeyani glared at the back of her head before turning to unpack as well. What a bitch. She knew this was considered the best academy, that's why Eggy went here and why she was here now.

"For your information I know it's the best. You should chill out a bit. After all, I'm going to graduate as the top in class." Xeyani said, already having figured out the best way to poke at this girls nerves.

The female breathed out a heavy sigh. "I doubt you will be any challenge to me."

Xeyani smirked. "I look forward to proving you wrong. See you in class." She said.

2) Teachers Aren't Always Right
Xeyani groaned and let her head drop onto her desk. She hated writing reports. She understood it was important to understand strategies but she didn't care about a single general and his specific ideas that hadn't been truly copied in over a century.

"Is there a problem, Xeyani?" Her teacher, Mrs. Dane, asked.

"No ma'am." Xeyani answered, knowing that this teacher hated it when students asked questions she seemed foolish. She was quick to snap at accusations and faster to deal out punishments. Xeyani had done more than her fair share of wood chopping, floor scrubbing, and item storage since the start of this term.
