'are you sleeping?"

"Mmm kinda." Francis rolled over onto his back and opened his eyes to look at Daniel lingering in the doorway. "why?"

"Can I join you? It's cold." And Furfur was too busy to nap with him overnight.

"Yeah." Francis agreed, scooting over in the bed to make room.

Daniel gave a small smile of thanks and pulled off his hoodie before he crawled into the bed with Francis. More skin contact allowed more heat transfer. As usual he cuddled right up to the larger man's chest. He found Francis very comfortable to cuddle with.

"You are cold." Francis noticed as he wrapped an arm around Daniel. He'd never admit he enjoyed the cuddling too.

"Im used to scilias fire." Daniel huffed. "How are you so warm?"

"I'm used to Francia's winters." Francis rested his head down above Daniels. "go to sleep."

"Fine."

. . . .

"Oh, you're awake." Daniel muttered, noticing Francis was awake and staring at the ceiling.

"Yeah. You were on my arm." And he looked too comfortable to risk disturbing by pulling it away.

Daniel lifted his head so Francis could pull his arm free before resting back down. "Ready to get up?"

"It's going to be cold." Francis warned.

"I'll survive."

Francis shrugged and kicked down the blankets so they could get up. Still, Daniel was the first one to actually get up.

"You have a tail." Francis noticed when Daniel turned his back.

"Huh? Oh, uh, yeah. I do." Daniel looked over his shoulder as if to check before quickly tucking his tail up inside his shirt. It must have come free sometime in the night.

"How have I never seen that before?"

"I hide it when I hook up so no one uses it against me." Daniel shrugged. "I don't like it getting pulled on so illusion magic."

He couldn't get rid of it but he'd make it invisible and wrap it around a leg or his waist.

"You could just say no." Francis was a very respectful partner with Daniel. They didn't push, they listened.

"It's a habit at this point. Started before you." Daniel didn't mind explaining himself to Francis though he was a little surprised by how curious he was. "You really have never seen it before?"

"Non, you always hide it." Francis finally got out of bed now too.

"I won't next time I guess, if you like the whole tail aesthetic. Just don't pull on it."

"You have my word." Francis gave Daniel a pat on the head and ruffled his hair before moving on to his wardrobe to find something to wear.

Daniel fixed his hair with a huff and pulled on his hoodie. "I'll see you tonight."

"Oh, are we doing this again?"

"Yeah. You're a good heater." Daniel shot him a teasing smirk before leaving the room to snatch breakfast from whatever Elyse made.

"Where are you going?" Furfur asked Daniel, glancing at the bag he had just finished packing and slipped over his shoulder.

"Hell." Daniel answered. "I'm going to find my childhood home. It might help me find my sisters."

"Oh." Furfur seemed a bit surprised that he would willingly return to hell. She knew he was looking for his siblings but she hadn't realized that meant he might be leaving for long periods of time.
