All "modern" but before their relationship --

Yasmine had come to visit Scilia again after she finished her duties making dinner. Their friendship was started by a stroke of fate but they got along quite well. At first Scilia's touchy habits and teasing embarrassed her but she'd started getting used to it. At least she was used to Scilia's frequent touches.

"Hey Scilia, do you dislike Zafir?" Yasmine asked, leaning back a against Scilia. She made a comfortable back rest when the two cuddled.

"Hmm? Why do you ask?" Scilia adjusted how she was laying slightly so she could rest her head near Yasmine.

"I don't know. You always seem to be trying to get under his skin."

"It's my own little game. That's all." Scilia shrugged. "Remember how I wrap around new people to learn how you look?"

"Yeah, it's so you would recognize us in a vision. Right?"

"Mhm. Well when I wrapped Zafir he didn't react at all. Actually he made a joke about it and brushed it off. So I've made it my mission to find out what bothers him." Scilia answered.

"Not a lot bothers him. Not that he'll let you see at least." Yasmine pointed out.

"You're right, not a lot. But there is one easy thing."

"What's that?"

"You of course. He's like an overprotective father, always worried about the chastity of his sweet daughter." Scilia laughed.

Yasmine blushed lightly. Sometimes hearing it put like that could be embarrassing. Her chastity was none of Scilia's buisness, neither was it Zafirs.

"Remember how mad he got at me when I helped you out in the kitchen?"

"That's because you picked me up without asking first!" Yasmine said, a little huffy about the situation still. She just hadn't been expecting it.

"You asked me to help you get something off the top shelf. So I helped. How else did you expect me to know what I was grabbing?"

"You knew perfectly well what you were grabbing." Yasmine debated, considering Scilia's hands had been a little low for comfort.

"You're right. And Zafir got quite mad didn't he? I can imagine the steam coming from his ears." Scilia laughed. "I told you, it's a harmless game. I'm just playing with him. I won't cross the line."

"Do you know what the line is?" Yasmine asked. Scilia gently brushed Yasmines hair off her shoulder to brush it to her back. She'd mentioned before how silky it was. Scilia was full of compliments for Yasmine.

"I know what the line is. And I won't cross it. I promise. I'd never hurt you or your family like that." Scilia answered. "Do you believe me, Chickadee?"

"I do. I trust you."

There was a ball tonight. It was a political event more than anything. It was Lilly's birthday so a ball was held for the nobility and the important connections of the palace.  Lilly enjoyed it too so in the end there was no harm or foul. Who didn't adore the young princess?

Scilia had finished cleaning up with Yasmine, choosing to help since it wasn't part of her chores to clean the kitchen.

"Do you hear the music?" Scilia asked. They weren't farm from the ballroom, it was almost directly above them. The servants hall was mostly empty as they were working as serving staff for the party or gone for the night to avoid the noise.
