Okay it seems like everyone is struggling and Cherry is just chilling so I feel like she's owed a "why is cherry this patient" segment.
I mean, MissAvarice, you know Faris. And Cherry just waits and waits.
So let's have a fun Cherry backstory day to let you understand what goes through her head.
Starting with...
Dad + Mom
(For your record purposes. Her dad was still moderatly present when she was born but quickly faded)
"Dad! Dad! Look what I found!" Five year old Cherry ran into her father's study with her hands clasped together. Her mother was in there too however Cherry tended to ignore her as much as she ignored Cherry.
"If you release an animal in here..." Her mother muttered half a threat.
"Look how pretty it is!" Cherry opened her hands to show king Merek the yellow butterfly she'd caught. Of course the yellow butterfly fluttered off her hand when she opened them.
"It's nice." Her father said, looking up from his paper. Cherry grinned. As much as she loved the butterfly, she was happier to get her father's attention. "Did you name it?"
"Yeah! I called her Sunshine." Cherry answered, watching the butterfly flutter around.
"She does look like a ray of sun." Merek agreed.
"You shouldn't encourage her." Luize said, shaking her head at the immaturity of her husband. They had work to do and he was distracted by an insect. "Maelle!" She called for their head guard turned nanny to come take the princess.
"Hmm." Merek looked back to his papers. Cherry recognized that dull look in his eyes, his face devoid of emotion.
"Dad will you come read a story to me tonight?" Cherry asked. "Like you used to?"
"Not tonight, Cherry. Ask Maelle." He answered.
It was about that time Maelle arrived. She entered the office and set a hand on her back. "I'll read you a story before bed. Why don't we go play a game first. It's beautiful outside." Maelle said.
"Okay..." Cherry didn't sound very happy about it but she'd never been a child to throw many fits. She'd learned young that it wouldn't get her anything. She followed Maelle out of the office though winced when she heard a bang. Probably the queen smashing her butterfly.
"What game do you want to play?" Maelle asked, trying to cover up the sound or stop Cherry from figuring it out. Cherry was a bright girl though. Not just because of her high level of education. Maelle had noticed how cherry simply seemed to absorb knowledge if it interested her.
"Can you read me a story now?" Cherry asked. Maelle noticed the waver in her voice and looked down. Cherry was looking at the floor as they walked, kicking the ground a bit but not slowing them down or making a fuss.
"Sure. Which one do you want?" She asked.
"The one about the carpenter who saves the princess from a dragon."
"That's your favorite one, isn't it." Maelle said. "I'm sure you could recite it from memory by now."
"Please?"
"Okay. We'll read that one." Maelle nodded, guiding her to her room.

"Dad, are you listening to me!" Cherry called across the table. She was 12 now. Her father had retreated into his shell entirely.
