MissAvarice - another old scene a
I rediscovered and am attempting to finishSome of Furfurs favorite times with Daniel was in the early mornings or late at night. When he was tired all his defenses dropped.
As adorable as he was, having him fall asleep on her during breakfast wasn't common. Once Daniel was awake he'd usually stay awake.
"Is he alright?" Clara asked, having been enjoying the breakfast Elyse prepared for the staff.
"I think so. He wasn't up that late last night." Furfur answered, gently brushing Daniels hair aside. Daniels face scrunched up a bit and he stirred but he didn't wake.
"Maybe he's sick." Elyse offered. "I know Scilia said last time he was sick he slept two days straight."
"I didn't think vespers could get sick." Furfur could always go ask Dantalion. "Daniel, wake up. The food is ready."
When Daniel didn't react to her voice, which of course he wouldn't he'd been sleeping through their conversation, she tried shaking him instead.
Still nothing.
Well this was a little mean. Furfur brushed her finger tip ever so lightly over his ear. She knew he hated that feeling, like a fly was dancing around them. Sure enough his ear twitched once, twice, but when she continued it woke him up.
"Mmm stop." He lazily batted at her hand. He turned his head to look up at Furfur. He didn't even look annoyed behind the sleep clouding his eyes, just tired.
"Foods ready."
"Not hungry."
"Then go back to bed. Get up." Furfur gently pushed Daniel off her despite his weak struggles. Daniel huffed and crossed his arms on the table before laying his head down, perfectly content sleeping there.
"Come on, no games. You're acting like a child." Furfur got up and grabbed the back of his chair, pulling it away from the table so he'd get up. In his rush to sit back up Daniel ended up falling off his chair.
Daniel sat on the ground for a few moments, looking absolutely done with everything, before he willed himself to his feet and started to walk back to Furfurs room in silence.
"That was weird, even for him." Elyse noted. "You should try to talk to him when he wakes up again."
When he wakes up again, what an absolute joke.
Daniel only woke once more that day. He walked to the kitchen to get some a snack, prepared by a strangely silent Elyse, before going back to bed before Furfur was informed that he was awake.
Since Elyse was clueless about it and Dantalion wasn't willing to wake Daniel in order to question him about his symptoms, Furfur chose to visit Scilia. She'd only spoken to that snake half a dozen times but she'd proven herself to be helpful.
"You can come in!" Scilia called before Furfur could even knock. "I had a feeling you'd be coming."
"You saying that every time doesn't make it any less weird." Furfur pointed out to which Scilia only shrugged.
"What's the problem this time? Need a new favorite of his for an apology?"
"I'm almost offended you think I'm only here for your help." Furfur placed a hand on her chest in mock offense. Scilia was right, Furfur almost always visited because she needed bat help.
"If he's not mad then what?"
"I think he's sick. Do vespers get sick?"
"Not often but they can. Since they're so delicate it usually knocks Daniel off his feet for a few days in the rare times he does fall ill." Scilia answered her question. "If you know healing magic he may let you cute his symptoms. He's pretty fussy about letting people use magic on him though. Especially those with less control."
