MissAvarice it's even more interesting than it sounds
~~~~~~~~~If there was one thing that annoyed Blake it was the idea that she wanted pure souls. Sure at first the sacrifices in her name were flattering but it was starting to become annoying.
Sacrifices, when done right, sent the soul right to her whether they were innocent or not. Usually these were people in their teens to thirties. Healthy ones who had a life ahead of them. She'd take a look at the soul and usually send them straight to purgatory for the hopes of not having to deal with the work. When they were given back to her they were usually made a low ranking demon rather than torture. It was a win win as Blake got more workers and they weren't tortured for eternity. She'd still rather not have it happen but if she couldn't stop it she'd make the best of it.
Even more annoying than dealing with the souls themselves was when a sacrifice was used to summon her. In what world would someone want to do you a favor after you cause them more work? Absolutely none. Those were the people that got the worst sort of deals. Usually it ended up with them brain dead or entirely broken. She rarely k-lled her victims though. She'd rather put off the work until they died naturally.
That second scenario is what was happening now. Blake felt that familiar pull of a summon. She set down her pen and answered the call. She found herself in a room with a woman no older than 23 but likely younger. The room around her was dark with thick drapes covering the windows. Books of black magic and theories of hell decorated bookshelves. Demonic sigils were scribbles on the walls. If nothing else Blake had to compliment the woman of doing the complicated circle accurately.
"You're not the Devil, Lucifer." The female kneeling outside the circle spoke.
"No I'm his daughter. My name is Blake, Second Devil of hell and current queen. My father has been gone for centuries." Blake introduced herself, looking down at the woman again now.
There was the soul she'd felt. The body of a boy around the age of five lay on the ground with a knife in his stomach. That had been the sacrifice drawing her here.
When souls were sacrificed as part of her ritual it was rare for Azrael to show up. The soul was bonded to her. It would linger in the room then be dragged to hell with her when she left.
"I see. Thank you for coming so quickly, my queen." The human bowed her head respectfully. How... Odd.
"What is it you summoned me for?" Blake asked.
"Ive read every scripture of you, My Queen. I know all about the devil and your father before you. I have dreamt of the day I would meet you. I even made Alex so you could arrive."
"Alex? Oh that child." Blake realized. "What do you mean you made him for me?"
"I got pregnant with him when I was a young teenager and raised him to be the perfect soul for you. Everything I've found in my research points towards 5 being the perfect age for sacrifice. Still pure and innocent but able to understand pain and betrayal. Still blindly trusting to a mother no matter what she may do."
"You had and murdered a child for me?" Blake asked.
"Yes. Are you impressed?"
"Not in the slightest. The maternal bond doesn't really count if you always intended to kill him." Blake was starting to grow short tempered. She didn't want to hear a human lecture her about what she liked. "If you want to make a deal, speak now."
"I wish to be made a demon after death, My Queen. I wish to serve you for eternity."
Blake nearly scoffed. This human so easily swayed and obsessively devoted seemed like more trouble that she'd be worth as a demon.
