"Cisco."

"Shit!" Cisco startled when he felt the hand on his shoulder and spun around. "Amielle, what are you doing out here?"

"Malik told me to stop bothering him and find you instead." Amielle answered. "so I found you."

"How did you even-" Cisco pinched the bridge of his nose and took a deep breath. He was walking in the market for a bit of alone time and to pick up some supplies he needed. "Never mind. You can't be out here like this. You stand out too much. Come."

Cisco took Amielles hand to guide him out of the crowd and instead towards a back alley where he could safely hide. "Most humans know the existence of demons and hybrids but you still shouldn't walk around exposed like this. It's dangerous and you might get hurt."

"I'm sorry. I wanted to see the market with you. I've never seen so many humans in one place before." Amielle apologized.

Damn it why was he so cute? Cisco couldn't even stay upset with him. "I'm going to go buy you a shawl or something to hide with. Then you can come with me. Okay?"

"Wait." Amielle grabbed Cisco's hand. "Please don't leave me alone back here."

Cisco reached up and gently patted Amielles head. "You'll be fine. Just sit down over there and wait for me. I'll be back in ten minutes."

Amielle didn't seem the most pleased with that answer but nodded and released his hand. He walked over to where Cisco pointed and took a seat, looking more like a child in a timeout than anything else.

"I'll be right back. Just stay out of trouble please." Cisco knew Amielles curiosity could get the best of him.

"I will. Be quick."

. . . .

Cisco found a hooded coat for Amielle that wasn't too hot or expensive and returned to where he left the alien. Amielle was still sitting where he was told to remain.

"Cisco!" Amielle wasn't looking at Cisco but rather to the thing in his lap with terror. "Help me."

Cisco looked at the stray cat in his lap. A medium sized grey tabby. The cat wasn't being aggressive, actually he seemed quite happy considering he was kneading Amielles leg.

Cisco bit back a laugh. "What's wrong?"

"I think it's getting ready to attack me."

"Why?"

"I feel it's talons. It's vibrating. Is it going to explode?!"

Cisco felt a bit bad for laughing at Amielle but he couldn't help it. The poor terrified alien just stared helplessly at the cat that now settled down in his lap but continued making biscuits.

"It's a cat, Amielle. They're pets. Well, this one is a stray. But they're friendly." Cisco walked over and sat down beside Amielle. He offered his hand to the cat to sniff before gently scratching it behind the ear.

The cat was a bit dirty and skinny from living on the streets but was surprising friendly. He especially seemed to like Amielle.

"It's not attacking?" Amielle asked.

"No. Cats knead and purr when they're happy. It means they like you. Here, you can let him too." Cisco took Amielles hand and guided it over to the cat.

Amielle flinched back when the cat sniffed him before relaxing and slowly petting it's back.

"See? They're friendly."

"I see now." Amielle nodded, having started to calm down.

Cisco sat there beside Amielle for a couple minutes while he pet the cat in his lap. "We should probably go explore the market, that's what you wanted right?"
