Sadiq had only met Mavati a few weeks before the romance started.  They had made a quick connection, similar to how quickly he became friends with Maelle.   His relationship with the two separately had more in common than just how quickly they became friends. Mavati was the first to admit her feelings to Sadiq and Maelle followed shortly after.

A short term love triangle made things slightly awkward for the three before Mavati offered a solution, why couldn't they both date Sadiq?

That's where they were now, a date with the three of them.  Maelle was leaning against Sadiq's side. He had his arm around her as she slipped a glass of wine. Mavati was on his other side and offered Sadiq a grape, feeling it to him with a smile. It was a sweet moment but that's what they liked. They had been dating for quite some time now yet it was still a secret.

"Do you think we should tell your friends?" Mavati asked. "I feel wrong hiding our relationship."

"I don't know..." Maelle said. "No matter the time, I still belong to the royal family. I have still been banned from romance. I don't think Cherry would get mad at me but..." Maelle sighed softly. "my last, my only, relationship did not go well."

Sadiq looked down to Maelle and slightly tightened his arm around her. "We can wait." He told her, he understood her being cautious. He did want to tell his friends but he didn't want to get Maelle in any trouble.

"You know... Most dragons don't tell anyone about their relationships until they have the wedding prepared." Mavati said. "You can always wait for that and just blame me."

"Maybe that will be soon..." Maelle said, glancing up at Sadiq.  Sadiq looked down at her and met her gaze before clearing his throat. Yes he had considered asking the two to marry him but it wasn't like they'd been dating for very long, just under a year.  He had hesitated though, he wasn't sure how the two would feel about marriage.  He looked to Mavati questioningly.

"Yes, I think it would be nice if that was soon." Mavati answered. "What do you think, Sadiq? Do you want to marry us?"

No, it wasn't formal, but nothing from them was. Mavati had been married before so she didn't want anything big.  Maelle had never been one who enjoyed big ceremonies.

"What? Are you sure?"  Sadiq asked, surprised the conversation got there so quickly. "You... Want to marry me?"

"That's sounds like a proposal to me." Mavati said, looking at Maelle.

"Yes. I think so too." Maelle grinned at Mavati before she looked up to Sadiq. "I would love to marry you."

"As would I." Mavati added, leaning up and setting her hand on Sadiq's cheek before pulling him into a passionate kiss. When the two broke apart he had a moment to catch his breath before Maelle did the same.

By the time the two finished, Sadiq was breathless and glad his face was dark enough to hide the heat that had risen to his cheeks. This was really happening. He was marrying two beautiful, independent women.

"I guess that means we can tell the others now." Maelle said. "come on." Maelle took Sadiq's hand and helped him to his feet. "I've always wanted to plan a real wedding."

It didn't take long to gather the other mercenaries as well as Cherry in one of the meeting rooms.  Cherry sat beside Faris, as usual, and the others were spread out between the two couches.

Maelle and Mavati sat on either side of Sadiq. They hadn't gotten rings but those could wait until the wedding. It was all too sudden to have prepared for it.

"There is something we must tell you, Queen Cherry." Maelle said. As usual, her duties came before pleasure. "I have broken the rules of my servitude. I have been in a romantic relationship with Sadiq."

Cherry seemed slightly shocked for a moment before Faris leaned over to her. "I win. That means you have to let me sleep on the floor, princess."

"You bet on their romantic standings?" Mavati asked with a slight laugh to which Cherry only sighed and nodded. She was only disappionted that she lost though.

"Maelle I have told you before that my ancestors rules no longer apply. I'm happy that you have more than your duties. You have my blessing." She assured both Maelle and Sadiq.

"I hope you mean that Cherry because we're more than dating..." Maelle continued

"We're engaged!" Mavati couldn't hold in the excitement for Maelles slow announcement.

"WHAT!?" Kassims exclamation was by far the loudest of the reactions.

"Well, Sadiq, I never pegged you to be a harem guy. Guess girls can't ignore those muscles." Zafir laughed.

"You're not wrong." Mavati replied with a smile, hugging Sadiq's arm against her chest playfully. "I've always liked the strong silent type."

Sadiq looked down at Mavati and gave a slight smile she was a sweet heart and always able to lighten a serious mood.

"Well, congratulations you three." Yasmine said. "whens the wedding?"

"We aren't sure. We will probably be blending the traditions of three cultures for the wedding... It will be interesting." Maelle admitted. "However I am certain we will invite all of you when it's time."

"Tell me if you need any help." Yasmine offered.

"I'll take you up on that when planning the feast." Mavati assured her.

"This calls for a celebration, doesn't it? Why don't we all go out to the tavern." Cherry offered. "Dinner and drinks?"

There were a few voices and nods of agreement before the group left to get ready and go celebrate Sadiq's engagement.
