"Where are we going Reeva?" Cisco asked, holding tightly onto her shoulders as she dragged him deep under the waves.Ryuin had made a charm for the humans so they could breathe and speak under water. Reeva had insisted on bringing Cisco with her for a trip. He swam too slowly for her liking though so she told him to hold onto her while she swam.
"A system of underwater caves." Reeva answered.
Thankfully the charm also let Cisco see underwater. Despite how dark it was getting, he was able to see some distance around them. Reeva didn't seem to have any trouble seeing.
"Why?"
"It's a surprise." Reeva laughed. "I'm not going to put you in harm's way."
...
Not going to put him in harm's way. Right.
"Reeva!" Cisco hissed as they neared the caves. No, as they neared the sirens den. There were about eight sirens outside the cave system, mostly young siren with a few adults to keep an eye on them.
Reeva called a greeting as she passed with the human still clutching into her back. "Just stay close to me and you'll be fine."
Reeva guided Cisco to let go of her since they wouldn't fit into the caves stacked like this. "Follow."
Cisco felt along the cave walls and slowly swam after Reeva as she navigated the never ending tunnels. She mostly pulled herself along by the arms since it was too thin to easily swim so at least he could keep up with her.
Eventually, the tunnel widened and Reeva swam upwards towards the surface. Cisco followed her, taking a deep breath of air and coughing a few times from the strange transition.
The place they'd come to was an open dome of air. Around the edges was a few feet of rock where another dozen or so sirens were eating, resting, or talking.
"Zian?" Reevas eyes settled on one siren in particular. He was the only one in the entire clan with light scales.
"Wait up." Cisco swam after Reeva but she was far faster than him, going to the rocky edge and pulling herself up to hug the white scaled man.
"I didn't know you were coming back!"
Beside the two of them was an older siren baring much resemblance to Reeva except the large scar across her chest.
"If you didn't know he was coming, how did you know to bring a snack?" The woman asked. She wasn't the only one focused on Cisco either.
"No, wait." Reeva slipped back into the water to collect Cisco. "he's not food. This is the human I've been staying with on the surface. The one that rescued Anatol."
Reeva pushed Cisco towards the woman and the pale man. "His name is Cisco. Cisco this is who I wanted you to meet. My mother, the chieftess. And this is Zian, my brother who has been traveling for the last two years."
