A little more development of him in different situations MissAvarice

Beau spent a moment tidying up his room. It wasn't very large here. He worked at one of the many dispensaries where blood taxes were collected then distributed. It was a semi large building since the tax could be stressful for some. Their solution was to have nearly a dozen rooms which were decorated by the users to make it feel more homely.

Beaumont was room 8. He shared it with a sweet older lady named Alice. She said he could decorate it however he wanted. She only had a couple items in the room to make it feel personal to her as well.

Still having this room mostly the way he liked it, and really Alice's preferences didn't bother him, helped Beau feel relaxed at work. The one on one conversations didn't bother him so much when he was relaxed.

Soon his first appointment arrived. Beau looked at the girl and gave a sweet smile, the same one you'd see on any customer service person. "Hello. What's your name?"

"Emilee." The young girl replied. She only looked to be in her twenties, possibly younger. Maybe this was her first time. The taxes don't start until you're 19. They assume by that time any reasons you can't give blood would have been discovered.

"My name is Beaumont. You can come in." He invited her when she lingered in the doorway. He didn't blame her for being nervous, a lot of people were their first few times.  Emilee entered the room and walked to the chair Beau pointed at.

" Is this your first time?" He asked. Emilee nodded. She was clutching onto the hem of her shirt pretty tightly. Beau felt bad for her. It was better if the patients were relaxed anyways.

"You know, if you have family they can come in with you. I don't like needles very much either." Beaumont said. "But having my brother around always helps me relax."

"They didn't come with me." That was usual. Some people felt weak if the needed support. "Does your brother work here?"

"No. He works at the tavern just east of the market place." Beaumont answered. "That's a portrait of us." He said pointing to one of the pictures in the room.

It had been a birthday gift from Dante last year. He hired a professional artist to get an accurate portrait of the two of them. Beaumont loved it.

"Oh, you're twins." Emilee noticed. Beaumont nodded.

"I'm the older one, if you'll believe it."

"Why wouldn't I?"

"I think this is the most I've talked to anyone in a week but he flirts with girls for a living. Drop by the tavern any night he works if you want to get pampered."

Emilee giggled and nodded. "Yeah, maybe I'll try."

At least he got her to smile. He sat on his chair beside Emilee and gently cleaned her arm before he picked up his needle. The blood donation was once a year. It wasn't too much to cause someone any issues as long as the followed the guidelines. Sleep reasonably the night before and make sure you've had breakfast.

"Do you have a job?" Beaumont asked. He noticed her tense again when he picked up the needle. "You can look away."

Emilee did look away from him, just focusing on the portrait again since there wasn't too much to look at otherwise. "I'm a waitress too. At my mother's restaurant."

"What's it called?" Beau asked, wondering if he'd been there.

Emilee winced and her grip on the chair tightened when Beau put the needle in her arm. At least the bad part was over.
