If you recall MissAvarice, Blake not only came to Cherrys wedding but greeted the eldest princess with a hug.

If you know anything about Blake that's not something she does lightly. She did leave right after wishing the couple a happy wedding but still, she didn't do that for any other countries. What are you going to do, wage war on hell?

I thought you may simply be curious why they know one another.

First let me give you a but if history and science.

Dantalion would nut over this chapter.

The great war ended a few hundred years before the settlement of Delyra. The mountainous terrain made people unlikely to travel there before they had the tools to find the precious materials in the land.

Blake was still an infant when the great war was coming to an end.  Demon children develop at a rate about 75% that of a human (of course ones such a succubi that give themselves a body don't follow this rule) and are generally considered fully developed around 25.

Though they're developed at this point it's still pathetically young. In hell you're generally treated as a child until you're at least 150 or have enough power to demand respect. Even then it's like an 18 year old telling 30 year olds what to do. True respect comes with power levels one generally won't reach until they're a solid few centuries old.

The begining of this story takes place around the settlement of Delyra in which case Blake is considered an adult but not respected as one.

Meanwhile supernaturals, though out to the world, are generally seen as lower class in most countries. After all, humans never adapted to large changes very well. There was still some resistance to accepting them as part of society.

The Zul family had been one of nobility in Levanthia for quite some time. They held enough power that recently they had been willing to come out as vampires to the world. One of the few supernatural families to hold power.

Still, they continued to grind their teeth and feed in private off of willing victims to keep a more human appearance.

Teeth grinding is a primitive action dating back to early vampires. Back then it was a rock but now it was stronger dulled items that were used to quite literally grind away a chunk of the vampires fangs. It's a painful process and it dulls their fangs but they're still sharp enough to feed generally and blend in better with humanity.

It also used to be a way to spite hunters. Hunter often wore fangs of slain vampires as a prize or warning but dulled fangs were seen as a weak or easy kill.

Anyways, because if the young Zul's nobility status he did not go to the mountain country as a laborer but rather as help to his country to keep power in claimed land and organization of material. Dull work, in his mind.

He saw the way laborers were treated in Delyra and as similar to the hate and stigma in his home country. He saw a promise in this new land and already ideas began to blossom of what this country could become.

Note that he wasn't original in his idea. Occuri was a settled and structured country by this time though they practiced complete isolationism. They were outed as a supernatural country around the end of the great war but neither confirmed nor denied the claim. He knew of the country only in faint stories and rumors as neither trade nor communication left Occuri.

He wanted a world like Occuri but better. One accepting of supernaturals and humans. One that thrived on equality. He just had no idea how to do it. And it faded to the back of his mind as one of those empty dreams that may come true if only you were in another world...
