Recap of story found in other book:
Gods get power through your belief in them. More are created when new elements come into life. Ones that exist may fade or change based on belief and necessity.
However there were three originals that were there when the universe began. The ones that created the world.
God created the earth and the continents. He made the daylight cycles and the tide. Most importantly, he made humanity.
Mother nature then created the plants and the animals both in an abundance of creatures.
Aliqu created balance. She saw everyone eating the plants and how it was damaging the earth. She saw that eating only plants seemed to make all creatures weak. She made the food chain. She made predators. She created death. This creation was not well liked despite her reasoning.
This hatred caused a conflict between the gods. Two outnumbered the one. There was imbalance in the heavens. Humans and prey began to feel fear. They did not want to be eaten or die. From this imbalance and fear a fourth god was born, Seth.
He was the god of fear and evil. He created nightmares. He had little reason for this aside from gaining his own selfish power. He supported Aliqu as it was because of her that he was made. This only served to make God and Mother Nature hate Aliqu more.

"Look." Mother Nature said, pointing to a specific scene of earth. Aliqu spent most of her time alone in the heavens. Seth misunderstood her intentions and she found him mildly annoying. The other two hated her. God was too busy playing with humans to bother her anyways. This approach from Nature was odd. "What do you see?"
Aliqu sighed and decided to play along so ad not to further anger Nature. "I see a rabbit eating."
"Look closer at the rabbit." Mother Nature insisted.
Aliqu gazed at the scene for a bit. The rabbit seemed perfectly healthy. A female in her prime. "She's nursing." Aliqu noticed.
"She's supposed to be nursing. A fox got into her den and slaughtered her babies!"
Aliqu could feel Nature glaring at her but she didn't even bother to look, shrugging off the issue. "it's spring. The fox likely needed the nutrients to feed her own young."
"Don't you have any sympathy?" Mother Nature reached out to grab Aliqu but Aliqu caught her wrist first.
"You made these creatures in a mockery of my appearance. I worked hard to fix your problem when I saw the downfall of these creatures. Rather than thanking me for saving them, you insult me further. I'm afraid I don't care for your opinions any longer." Aliqu released Nature's hand and faced the woman now. She glared up at the taller goddess, challenging Nature to insult her further. Aliqu was not the most menacing in appearance of the gods.
God and Mother Nature had expressed their power and shown just what it could do. Aliqu had shown her mind in creating her systems of life and death. The limit of her power had never been shown but it was clear she thought in a different way than the other two. It was this mysterious, and at time frightening, difference in Aliqu that prevented the three from fighting. Physically, at least.
"You do not save them, you've caused death and fear." Nature accused Aliqu but did not reach for or approach her again.
"The sacrifice of a few for the good of the many is saving more than it looses." Aliqu said. "I made death but I do not make humans slaughter one another. Watch God and his playthings before you accuse me of causing only terror."
