Chapter 29: Water Turns To Blood

The very next day once everyone woke up and got ready, they headed out for a day in town. Nanami was super excited and it showed. Hitome and the others were surprised to see how happy she was, they didn't find it weird at all, in fact they liked this happy and bright Nanami. It was a day for everyone to go out and relax and enjoy. They first started by going to a near by restaurant for breakfast, they didn't really eat anything to heavy as they were going to be tasting all kinds of food that Tokyo had to offer. Once breakfast was over they went and started with visiting some historical sites for the dragons to view. Much to there surprise they didn't know that Japan had such a vast history. After the short history tour they stopped by to eat some of the local cuisine. They started with some local sushi, then moved on to some local ice cream. After that the girls from Natsu's group decided it would be a good idea to take everyone shopping. While they went off to shop Natsu took Isidore to a local shop for the guys then took him to the arcade. Natsu not having much guys on his clan found Isidore to be a breath of fresh air. After a while the two men stopped playing to go buy a drink after some intense gaming. Isidore sat down near a bench outside that was across the street from the shop that the girls were in. Nastu sat next to him joining him. The two opened there drinks at the same time and drank it at the same time.

Isidore: this stuff is amazing! What is it?

Natsu: that my friend is one of the cheapest drinks you'll find here in Tokyo but you get your money's worth. A big can of juice and it comes in all different types of flavors

Isidore: I might want to take some of this stuff back to the village to show Kardama!

He says excitedly but his bright smile vanishes when he says his friends name. He then looks across the street and sees Nanami smiling as well as his other sisters.

Isidore: I've never seen her so happy before.

Natsu: huh?

Isidore: Nanami. She's been smiling from ear to ear ever since this morning.

He says with a gentle smile, Natsu looks ahead of him seeing the girls having a blast. That's when Nanami makes eye contact with him and smiles, he smiles back at her.

Isidore: It's been years actually since I've seen her this happy. She's always been so serious about protecting the village that she only smiled when she hung out with the local children. Other then that she was all about work, work, work.

Natsu turns to look at Isidore who was looking at his drink.

Isidore: I'm sure you know about her past.

Natsu: I do..

Isidore: She's suffered a lot because of it. Because of the war, I mean we all have. Like her we also wanted revenge but after being around Atlas and seeing how happy everyone in the village was...some of us changed. Hitome, Kyouko, Kiyomi, myself. We all changed and decided that we will drop this whole vengeance thing and dedicate our selves to protecting our home. But not Nanami...she still holds on to that and so does Kardama. Those two but more Nanami then Kardama wish nothing more then to avenge her parents deaths.

Natsu looks at his drink, Isidore realizes he has brought the mood down and quickly tries to change the conversation.

Isidore: shit, my bad man I didn't mean to get all depressed.

Natsu: no no it's totally okay. I...understand where you guys are coming from. Honestly the best advice I can give you is to stay by Nanami's side. Don't let the darkness that's inside her consume her. Hatred like that will cause you to do things you'll later regret, trust me..

Isidore: you speak as if you've experienced it before.

Natsu: More then you think.

Isidore: Damn.
