Chapter 99: No More Suffering

Irene now known as The Dragon God of Despair, stunned everyone with her power. She didn't transform into her dragon form, nor did any scales appear anywhere on her body. It's years, centuries of training, hardship, and her ability to overcome all odds. Her need to protect her family, to protect her daughter, and protect the man she loves. These are the things that made Irene's rise to becoming a dragon god possible. Like her rival Selene, the moon dragon god. They are now equals. She surpassed her former Master, Queen Grandine. Irene and only her, has become the strongest person in her clan. Irene's aura alone caused earthquakes, storms, unnatural things to occur. Other realms felt this surge of power and they feared it. Because it wasn't like anything they've felt or seen before. The heavens, the underworld, Asgard to name a few were all left in confusion as they didn't know who is causing this. Humans all around the world, the ones that can use magic and none magic users all felt it. All different kinds of animals knew something was wrong but they themselves didn't know what. Which caused them to act unnaturally. In the center all of this was the birth of a new god, a new dragon god. The Dragon God of Despair, Irene Belserion.
Kurayami who is the closest person to Irene couldn't take her magical pressure so he kneeled. Something he has never done. Irene with her dragon eyes, looks at Kurayami and begins to slowly make her way towards him. With each step she took life around her died, and new life is born. She stops just a few feet away and just stares at him. Kurayami on his knees slowly looks up at her.

Kurayami: I...I....I have no words...

Irene: Good. You don't need to say anything. Just kneel and await your death.

Kurayami suddenly fell to the ground. When he tired to get up he sees that his left hand is slowly disintegrating. His eyes widen seeing this. The disintegration began to creep up his arm.

Kurayami: What's happening to me?!

He yells out. He is in disbelief that he is slowly dying. He falls again to the ground and notices his left leg began to also disintegrate.

Irene: Kurayami San.

He looks up and locks eyes with Irene. He notices something that irritated him.

Kurayami: Do not look at me with those eyes! Those eyes...they're the same as the eyes from back then..

He begins to remember not long before he met Tomoe, he was shunned by his own family. His parents disowned him, and his sibling hated him. He remembers how he would struggle out on the streets to earn food. How hard it was for him to even get a roof over his head. It wasn't until he was 16, when his magic manifested. Back then magic was taboo. So even then he was shunned.

Kurayami: Those eyes...those eyes that my parents gave me...the same one my siblings looked at me with! The same eyes everyone looked at me and shunned me. Now you're giving me the same look!

He began to slowly drag him self away from Irene to escape. Irene saw this and slowly walked towards him. Feeling tired and out of breath he flips over. He raises his head a little and sees Irene walking to him. He lays his head back down and looks up at the skies. Irene stops and watches.

Kurayami: Is this the way I die...slowly. This is my sin. For betraying the first person to ever open her arms to me...for killing so many innocent people.

Irene: Kurayami San.

Kurayami: Yes....Irene San.

Irene: I know what is like to be looked at with disgrace. I know what is like to have your own family hate you. I have walked in your shoes. I betrayed my loved ones, and killed so many. But, the thing that separates you and I, is that I had family that forgave me. I have a daughter who didn't care how many lives I took, she saw passed that. I have friends who in the worst moment of my life instead of shunning me, or hating me they embraced me and showed me love. I have someone who made me open my heart, and show me how to love again. A man who no matter what I did in my past, loved me for me. A man who on multiple occasions put it all on the line to protect me. A man whom I respect, and love with all my heart. It's because of that that I am, who I am today.
