Chapter 39: Struggles Of Recovery

Irene: Hello?

Irene finally answers her phone after three rings. She stays on the line speaking to Wendy as she explains everything that has occurred in the few days that she's been away.

Irene: Yeah. Alright, I'll make sure to finish what I'm doing here quickly and head back home. Thanks for letting me know Wendy.

She hangs up breathing in and out slowly. Mira sees this and asks what's wrong.

Mira: what's the matter? Did something happen?

Irene: It's Natsu. He's reacting to something.

Mira: what do you mean?! Is he okay?!

Irene: He fell off his wheelchair for no reason. Wendy told me that she saw him slightly move his fingers after feeling a small tremor.

Mira: the one that happened a day ago?

Irene: Yeah, and today Natsu reacted again, Wendy said he was holding onto DiMaria super tight, as if he's afraid of something.

Mira: do you think it's...

Irene: Yeah. It has to be. Dammit I was hoping for more time but looks like we are out of time.

Mira: what do we do? Should we head back home?

Irene: Yeah. If Natsu doesn't recuperate and starts healing himself we won't be able to stand up to Acnologia. Let's break the news to everyone. We have to leave.

The two women walk into the infirmary where they had been staying helping the four dragons with there injuries. Lucy and Erza look behind them seeing the worried faces of the two women. They knew something is going on.

Lucy: what's wrong guys?

Irene: We have to go.

Erza: Go? Go where?!

Irene: We have to go back home.

She looks over the four dragons who are injured and recuperating from there battle against Acnologia.

Irene: If he was this close, then his next stop would had been Fairy Tail. Thankfully those other two came and interrupted his plans.

Erza: you mean the two individuals Levy and Yukino mentioned?

Mira: Yeah. Natsu has a bit of history with the two of them.

Lucy looks at her injured friend Levy. She releases her soft grip on her hand and stands up with a determined look in her face.

Lucy: I'm going with you guys.

Irene and Mira where surprised to hear this.

Mira: Lucy I don't think that will be a good idea..

Lucy: I..I think I have a way of helping Natsu.

Erza: You do?!

She looks back at Erza surprised then quickly plays along.

Erza: I mean, she does!

Irene looks at her suspiciously but givens in. They'll need all the help they can get at this point.

Irene: Fine. If you know of a way to help Natsu then come with us.

Lucy: Yes!

Erza: Can I come along too?

Irene: Yeah. I think you'll be a lot of help actually. Go pack your things we are leaving soon.

Both Erza and Lucy run out of the infirmary and go home to pack. Irene and Mira also walk out and begin to walk towards the exit of the guild. That's when Mavis stops them both.
