Chapter 33: After Effects

News Anchor: After the recent events that have occurred, numerous lives have been lost, billions and billions dollars in damage have been done to buildings, local business destroyed in a matter of seconds, hospitals and shelters full of patience with injuries and those who are seeking refuge from the destruction. This has to be the worst disaster to ever happened to the Japan and its people. Scientist and local weather analysts are having trouble explaining how such a powerful earthquake can split our country in two. Local government officials are trying to figure out how will they help the people, while some think it's better to leave the other half of Japan alone, others think it's a bad idea to leave them to govern for themselves. It's an on going discussion that's been going one for quite sometime. Meanwhile local military has begun to mobilize and help as many as they can but they as well wish to have a say in political talk. So many things have happened in a matter of just a few hours that we the people don't know what to expect anymore. As someone who's seen first hand the destruction to our wonderful country I must ask. Who will help us during these trivial times? forget about who will govern who, just help us! The people need help! There's children, and elderly that need help! Please...! I hope god is watching over us, and all of you who are hearing this, may god bless us all..

The female news anchor unable to hold in her emotions begins to cry on camera, live in front of millions of people watching and thousands listening in on handheld radios. Her news anchor partner tries to comfort her as he takes over the feed.

News Anchor: We will be back after these short commercials...

The feed cuts from all TVs, and radios as a now white noise can be heard. The news anchor wasn't lying. After Irene used Universe One, things have been getting out of hand. Riots have occurred all around the country as the people let there voices be heard asking for help, medical treatment, food, water and shelter. Military presences has picked up as well as they try to control the riots, but instead of helping all they are doing is causing more damage. A curfew was put in place for the safety of the citizens, and those who don't follow the curfew end up in prison or shot dead in the street. That's only the tip of things going around. For the Northern Part of Japan the government has officially taken over, while the Southern Part has been under Military observation by order of the government. Freedom has been thrown out the window, the voice of the people is being ignored, and while there has been some help, it's still not enough. Soon we will run out food and water and the people will grow restless again. All of this happened in just a few days. Who would have thought that in just a few days our world would be turned upside down once more...
Even thought Irene said we would be going to Kyoto to pay Fairy Tail a visit we still haven't gotten the chance to leave. Things got bad so we decided it will be best to fortify the place we call home and hold until things calmed down. I've asked Irene numerous times if we should wake the others up but she doesn't want to, she says "not yet" I'm not sure what she is waiting for but what ever it is I hope she knows what she is doing. As for Wendy and Natsu's uncle we managed to clean him from all the blood and wounds he has, we even went ahead and placed a barrier around his body so his body wouldn't decay. It's been hard on us, Karameel, Griselda, Wendy, Brandish, DiMaria. It's true we've all fought in wars and beat the meanest, nastiest fellows around but something like this. We...I wasn't prepared for it. Natsu still remains the same, although Wendy healed his injures, she couldn't heal his back. To put it in Irene's words "It's up to Natsu" He's alive thankfully but he has this dead look in his eyes, almost like he isn't fully there. Irene thinks Natsu lost his will to keep fighting after suffering such traumatic injuries. He's stared death in the eyes numerous times before, but this time death took a piece of him as compensation for escaping him so many times. Death had a name, Acnologia. With his demon side now being dormant, Natsu doesn't have that extra will in him anymore. If he were to be on the brink of death his Etherious side usually took control and brought him back, but this time it won't be like that. This time Natsu has to fight to find his will, to find himself. What ever the occasion maybe just know something...
