Chapter 135: Above From Beyond

Finally the fighting is finished. Finally everything that has been keeping DiMaria away from Natsu has come to an end. Only a few things remained to be officially done with it all, which is what Natsu and DiMaria had to go take care off. One is checking up on the twins who where still unconscious. Natsu tried his best to heal there wounds but unfortunately his healing abilities only work best on him. He is only able to get rid of some bruising, enough to wake them up slowly. Next is to check up on Hotaru, who both Natsu and DiMaria left behind as they went to battle Tsukuyomi. Ultear, Minerva and Mira made it to Hotaru first as they were stunned to see what was going on. When they heard footsteps approach them Mira is the first to turn around.

Mira: Natsu...DiMaria..

She goes up to them and hugs them both at the same time. She then separates herself and looks at Natsu's missing arm.

Mira: Your arm..what..how did it happen?

He looks over to his right.

Natsu: I hesitated. It's okay though, I don't mind giving my arm if it meant saving DiMaria. Besides I can always ask Karameel to see if she can build me a mechanical arm.

They hear coughing as all three of them turn around. DiMaria and Natsu spot Ultear and Minerva kneeling on the ground. DiMaria notices Hotaru's shoes as she rushes to check up on her. She slides next to her and sees a horrendous site.

DiMaria: Ho...taru..

She gently looks over to her left and sees DiMaria.

Hotaru: Mari...you came back..

DiMaria: I...of course I told you I'll be back.

Hotaru smiles as blood drips down her mouth. Natsu also gets there and sees what's going on. He tries to apply healing magic to Hotaru. She sees that he's trying to heal her. That's when she feels something wet on her cheek. She thinks it's rain but it's DiMaria who is crying. She reaches out with her left hand cuffing her cheek and wiping the tears away.

Hotaru: Why the tears Mari?

DiMaria: What do you mean why? You're injured and it's my fault. We should have never fought.

Hotaru smiles and begins to cough. Natsu hears something. He looks towards Hotaru and tries to listen in on the noise he heard. When he does his eyes widen as he stops healing her. DiMaria looks at him.

DiMaria: What..? What are you doing why did you stop?

Natsu can hear it. He can hear Hotaru's heart slowing down.

DiMaria: Natsu?! Answer me. Why are you stopping?!

Mira places her hand on her should which makes her look at her. With a sadden expression on her face she just shakes her head at DiMaria.

DiMaria: No...No...not again..! Hotaru...

Her hand slowly begins to fall but DiMaria quickly reaches for it.

DiMaria: Hotaru...what's going on?

Hotaru: Mari..

She says as she coughs again.

Hotaru: You must have known me coming back to life wasn't going to last forever.

DiMaria: What do you mean?! Of course it can!

She shakes her head.

Hotaru: Remember the deal I made with Tsukuyomi.

DiMaria's eyes widen.

Hotaru: Our deal was that I would bring you back to our side, in return I would get to live. I fulfilled my duty to bringing you back. But the magic can also wear off if the caster is defeated in battle.
