Hannah: I don’t really know. I got a feeling that something was wrong and I went and found Skyler and she came and checked on jess’s stuff and I had to go out and then she came out and said something about her lungs and heart not coping or something so her support machines have been increased…
Danny: shit
I sit down and hold jess’s hand.
Danny: hey baby, im back sorry I left… I went to get a drink…
I feel so bad. We sit in silence for a bit until my phone beeped, I pulled it out and it was a text
Text: Mr O’donoghue your order AH378 is ready for collection
I feel excited
Danny: I’ve got to pick a parcel up, do you mind?
Hannah: no, I don’t mind at all
Danny: call me if anything changes yeah?
Hannah: of course
She smiles at me and I grab my jacket and leave. I walk 15 minutes round the corner and come to a jewellery shop.
*flash back*
Danny: babe?
Jess: yes?
She smiles
Danny: for your birthday what do you want?
Jess: if I make it till then
Danny: shhh of course you will!
Jess: why’d you wanna know? Christmas is next
Danny: because I know what to get you for Christmas and I was thinking about your birthday, just what do you want?
Jess: I don’t know… oh, I do want a new Pandora bracelet- I broke mine…
*end of flash back*
So that’s what I’ve got her. I’ve been really anal about what beads so it’s taken about 5 weeks for it to arrive… I walk in and a nice lady is stood smiling at me
Danny: hi, I got a text saying my order was ready to collect?
Lady: ok, name?
Danny: O’donoghue
Lady: ah yes, I’ll go get it
Danny: thank you
I wait and she son comes back and lays the chain out and then each bead.
Lady: is this ok?
Danny: perfect!
Lady: that will be £475 please
I pay on my card and look over the beads again. I got a plain metal band with two balls on each end, you bend it to tighten it and make it bigger. I got her 13 beads for it
A ‘J’ ‘D’ and ‘O’ for Jessie, Danny and orla.

A baby hand inside a mother’s hand, for her and orla
And two ballerina shoes exactly like the one she used to have because of her friendship between her holly and Clair
I add the beads to the band and thank the women putting it in a little Pandora bag and walking slowly back to the hospital. Buying this has given me more hope that she will wake up. When I get back I and Hannah talk for a little while before she has to go and pick the kids up from school.
I lie down and catch up on some sleep.

danny: happy birthday gorgeous
i wipe my eyes. I've never felt a pain like this before. i feel incomplete.
Danny: im so sorry baby, I don’t know what im going to do without you around jess… your my world and everything in it… I haven’t told orla yet- I don’t know how to, see this is why you have to be here! It all happened so fast, they were telling me that they thought you were going to wake up within hours and that you have beaten the cancer- you were better but then it took a turn and now… now… now you’re gone. Everyone’s in bits baby, Hannah hasn’t spoken to anyone, your mum and dad are devastated- even Rachel has come, she came to say her peace with you, but it was too late… she is sorry, she feels terrible jess… I feel terrible, I wish I could of made it all better for you, made the pain go away, made sure you were still alive, made sure that nothing ever happened to you- I let you down, your my wife, im meant to protect you and now your gone… *breaks down* I need you jess, I need you…
I couldn’t see through the tears but I could hear and slight, faint beeping start up
Danny: jess?!
I look to her machi-

I sit up as my head spins and the beeping gets louder. It was just a nightmare, phew. I look over to jess and then her machines. I see something that I truly hoped I never would see. No. no. I hit the nurse button, the doctor button and the Skyler button loads.
That light, that machine was going off. The one that meant she was about to die.
Danny: no jess! NO JESSIE NO! PLEASE BABY NO! COME ON BABY!
I start to shake with panic and fear. I grab her hand up. This can’t be happening no!
Danny: please baby, open your eyes! Please jess! Open your gorgeous green eyes! COME ON! JESS PLEASE! JESS!
