chapter 130 - wrong foot

*jessie*

today is chemo again. another week gone. another week of shit. i hate it. got that skyler nurse again, gunna be fun. but this time danny isnt coming. he has to go into bbc for radio promo. he cant get away. i dont mind, some Independence isnt always bad.

jess: orla baby, come here please...

she soon comes running through to the kitchen. she climbed up onto a stool, with a little bit of help.

jess: are you ready to go?

orla: i dont wanna go!

jess: oh baby, you have too... mummy has got to go see the doctors... but auntie clair look after you... yeah?

orla: no.

she pouted and folded her arms. i laugh.

jess: please?

orla: no...

she started to cry. i felt bad. my heart melted. i hate seeing her upset. every mother hates seeing there kids upset.

jess: oh baby... if you come, you have to sit still and be a good girl?

she nodded and hugged me. i grabbed all our bits and put them in the car, i strapped her in and turned the radio on. danny's voice filled the car and a smile filled spread my face. we drove towards the hospital while dan intruduced their new single 'superheroes'. its so good, i heard a snip of the new album 'no sound without silence' it sounds amazing!

we pull up to the hospital- no im not meant to drive but i have no choice, plus glen is gunna drop dan here after and he is gunna drive us home. i get out and we walk in. i find my rom and give orla my ipad while she sits on a chair i get onto the bed and get my phone out. soo skyler comes in.

skyler: hello jessie, how are you?

jess: hi skyler, i good thanks.

skyler: and whos this little one?

orla: orla! *poud*

she sort laughs to herself.

skyler: well my names skyler and im going to look after your mummy today *smile*

orla: thank you

skyler: awh thats ok...

she came and filled with my IV line and managed to do it right this time. she smiled and left. i watched orla play on the ipad, i think she was playing toca boca hair salon, dunno. i felt the pain build up inside me.

its taking all my strength not to cry. i push the nurse button as a tear falls from my eye.

orla: mummy? whats wrong?

jess: n-nothing b-baby... it ju-st hurts abit...

i saw the hurt or fear in her eyes, skyler came through. the expression on her face was shocked. she came over and put more pain relief into my dose.

skyler: orla? i think there are some big chocolate cookies out here... she we go get one? yeah?

i saw out the corner of my eye orla nod and jump off her chair. she put the ipad on the bed and grabbed skylers open hand. i tried to hide the tears, almost impssible. skyler led orla out, she turned round before closing the door. i mouthed a thank you and she just nodded.

i hide my face in the pillow and cry. i need danny.

i must have fallen alseep cause next thing i know skyler is checking my readings.

jess: w-whers my ba-by?

skyler: hi jessie, she is fine dont worry. she is in the staff room, i got her a cookie and found her some medical bits to play with, she is making her dolly better...

jess: thank you... i- im sorry for the other day... just ive got alot on... we got off on the wrong foot...

skyler: oh its fine, believe me your not the worst! plus im used to the kids ward so you get frantic parents... so you were quite nice to be honest...

i smile.

jess: you can tell you are good with kids... orla, she doesnt normally like stranger, but she went with you like he knew you forver...

she just smiled.

jess: is that what you wanna do? work with kids?

skyler: yeah, either on a kids ward or care or something like that yeah...

jess: awh... dont suppose you baby sit?

skyler: sometimes yeah, why?

jess: just i could do with one... i always feel bad asking my friends cause one is heavily pregnnt and the other has a life of her own... just like now and again? i wouldnt normally ask, just ive never seen orla take to anyone so well and fast before...

skyler: id love to yeah.. orla shes a gem...

jess: thanks

skyler: oh danny is here, but he is in the car, loads of paps here today! he called to say that he is gunna wait for them to go first..

jess: oh ok, thanks...

i smiled and so did she before she turned and left. i opened my phone and had a text from the last person i expected! tinnie!

text from tinnie:

hi jessie, i heard about you illness, im so sorry! but im playing in london saturday, i also know its your birthday then ;) so i was wondering if you want ill get you and danny (and who ever) VIP tickets? it would be great to catch up! been agessss!! but i also understand that if your too tired and not up for it... just let me know yeah? :)x

i smile and reply.

text to tinnie:

hey tinnie, wow long time no hear! id love to come, but this treatment is knackering, ill speak to dan and see... but reserve us some in case ;) what ever though we need to catch up!! :)x

i close my phone and wait for danny. id love to see tinnie, but i dont know whethe ri could face everyone... i look like utter shit! who knows.

also skyler is nice, i think we got off on the wrong foot, she is good at what she does and i trust her to look after orla, im sure danny will too, if he learns where her head is haha...
