Jessie is coming home today for Christmas, two weeks ish back at home. She doesn’t know yet though. She went back to hospital the Monday after my birthday and has been there since. And the doctors went very happy about the idea of letting her come home for Christmas but since it may… may be her last they agreed.
I walk into her room all happy. I wipe a rose from behind me out and hand it to her
Danny: for you madam…
Jess: awh thank you…
I lent down and kissed her lips.
Danny: right, today is different
Jess: why?
Danny: because, you need to put this, this and this on
I keep smiling, im so happy that she will be at home for a little while. I place 3 bags on her bed. she gave me a confused look and opened them.
Jess: Danny!
Danny: you won’t be the only one its fine
I laugh and she smiles, I had gotten her an onesie with a very over the top Christmas pattern on it, some Christmas socks and reindeer antlers.
Jess: thank you… but not the only one?
Danny: just wait…
I lock the door and help her have a bath and change into her new clothes.
Jess: mm… can you pass me that bag please?
She pointed to a bag in the corner and shifts through, she picks out a wig that has long brown hair with light blue dip dyed ends, and it matched her outfit because that was light blue too. She fiddled with it on her head and put the anteaters on top.
Jess: so what’s all this for?
Danny: come with me…
I zip up her case after putting her last few buts in, she looked confused but I just push her out while pulling her case. Easier said than done. I signed jess out on the way and waved bye to Skyler before we got to the car.
I helped her in and ran round and drove home. Ok so maybe we went slightly ott on decorations we covered the front of the house in lights and decorations. He gasps a little and then laughs.
Danny: everyone said it would be a bad idea because it would bum you out but I thought fuck it lets make the most of it!
Jess: it looks wonderful
She was still laughing
Danny: don’t worry there’s still stuff for you to do, the whole indoors…
Her face lit up,
Jess: I thought I weren’t allowed home for Christmas?
Danny: babe… this… um… you are now…
Jess: because I could be my last Christmas… *down*
Danny: it won’t be though…
We arrive home and I run her suitcase in and then help her in, I wheel her into the lounge and her eyes light up as she sees everyone. Which includes…
Orla, Holly, glen, tommy, Clair, Dara, ellie, Hannah, Jacob, evie, Sam, Lucy, luca, rose, Steven, my ma, mark, rina, Avery, lil and Cameron.
They all say hi and the usual. I wack on some Christmas hits- loud and we dance, sing and mess about decorating the house and baking Christmas goodies. The glow and atmosphere was wonderful.
I had jess on my back and I ran around the house while she covered it in tinsel. I sat her down and we laughed at our craziness. Everyone was having such a goodtime!
Jess: holly babe?
Holly: yep?
Jess: can you take a picture of me and Dan please?
She nodded. I picked jess up and she wrapped her legs round my waist, we pulled loads of funny faces, we laugh as we look back through them. It’s a good look me and jess dressed up in over the top Christmas pattern onesies- everyone was in them! Mine was red and jess’s was light blue.
She picked one of us smiling while kissing and posted it on twitter and Instagram.

I smile and retweet it. My ma and rose soon come through with cookies, mincepies and sausage rolls. We all sit down and watch a film- polar express, which seems to have become a tradition now.
The credits roll and I get excited. not because of the credits of course, I egt up and tell everyone to close their eyes. I run outside- put it this way at Christmas I become a little kid! I drag a huge! And I mean huge! Tree into the house and to the living room.
Danny: open!
Everyone gaps
Jess: is it big enough? *laughs*
Danny: no, it would have been bigger but the door was too small…
They all laugh and mark and glen help me get into a bucket and in place. The girls then get to work on decorating it. I grab the lads all a beer and sat down. It felt good to have everyone around. Jess was sat on a poof handing out tinsel and ballballs, she looked over and smiled at me. She looked genuinely happy, I could see the ache and tiredness in her eyes but she seemed so happy. Which made me happy.
Which I think made everyone else happy, she seems strong a full of life, not dying and tried which is giving everyone else life…
